Cask conditioned Malt Shovel Northampton no sparkler. A muddy brown appearance with an off white head and reasonable lacing. The aroma is malty and has some hints of chocolate. There is also chocolate in the taste as well as heavy fruit.

Gravity Cask, Chelmsford Beer Festival. Soft creamy texture with dry roasty bits. Coconut is the interesting flavour. Winey porter aroma.

A bit dull looking, fruity grapeskins in the aroma, aswell as some raisins, coconut, and some subtle toffee and chocolate. Nice hoppy and bitterish finish. Not bad (ChelmsfordBF 03')

Lightish, chestnut-ruby color with yellow edges and some nice head. An unexpected hop profile in the aroma, leading to some bitterness after a flash of fresh purple grape skins like my dad used to grow in our backyard. A bit acidic. Later, some interesting flavors, like a bit of coconut and milk chocolate (a Mounds candy bar). Soft body. An adequate porter. (gravity cask at 2003 Chelmsford Beer Festival)
