Bullit (687), Glasgow, Scotland Oct 10, 2008 Cask at Bon Accord, Glasgow. Clear dark yellow / golden colour, small off-white head. Grassy hops and spices in the aroma. Flavour of pleasant pineapple hops along with sweet malts. A bit too sweet, but a nice bitter dry finish. downender (1785), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England May 20, 2008 Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 20/5/08. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Caramel and earthy hop aroma. Sweetish flavour with some toffee and a short bitter finish. As mentioned below, the most prominent thing about this beer was the lack of alcohol, not just in terms of strength, but also impact on flavour and aroma. Certainly not worth drinking in comparison to the 4% beers I tried the same evening. GarethYoung (1108), Glasgow, Scotland Jan 17, 2007 [Cask from The Bon Accord] Floral hop notes, citric, earthy, slightly spicey, palemalt, caramel, toasty notes. Full bodied, touch of sweetness fruitily leads to a dry finish. Nice ale. Magicdave6 (4153), London, Greater London, England Oct 8, 2006 Aroma is pale malts with floural and grassy hops some honey or something. Taste is similar the honey brings through more flouralness but in general a bit sweet. chriso (4434), London, Greater London, England Mar 25, 2006 Cask (gravity dispense) at White Cliffs Beer Festival, February 2006. Golden colour, but I’m not sure what the intention is here, as it’s certainly not an aromatic, flowery golden ale, In fact there’s some underdeveloped malt in the aroma and a subtle smoky edge. More hop presence on the palate, but there’s some residual sweetness. Could use a bit more grip. Not very distinctive. Pleasant enough though. Wouldn’t have picked it as 5.9%.
