COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bill is the artist who painted our murals. As he worked, he lamented the lack of dark beer on tap. So his son Tom, brewery co-owner, created this delicious porter just for him.

Tap. Pours dark brown with a medium, fizzy light tan head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is coffee and chocolate malt, light roast and leather yeast with dark fruity esters. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and medium bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body, warmth and carbonation.

Draft at the Brewery with Andrew, PJ, and Brendan. Pours a dark brown body with red tint and light lacing. Aroma is light roast. Mouthfeel is light and thin with refreshing notes of roast, sweet malt, and bitter fruit.

Pours really really dark brown with an inch of thin khaki foam. Some decent roasted malt notes on the nose. Medium mouthfeel. I get some smaller chocolate notes on the tongue. Clean finish. Not bad but I prefer the German styles here.

On tap at Berwick Brewery. Whispy lacing and amberish color. Low-key aroma. Crisp and light-bodied for a porter. "tingly." very clear and light finish w/ zero aftertaste. Very drinkable but not standout.

On tap at the brewery as party of beerquest 2.5. Nice chocolately ale with crisp fluffy vanilla finish. Really well done.

In short: A chocolaty burnt fruit cake in a pint. An ok beer.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Near black body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose of a freshly baked fruit cake and chocolate. Taste of cake dark malts, some creamy chocolate, some burnt notes, dark fruits. Velvety smooth body. This really tasted like a chocolaty burnt fruit cake. Body was a bit too slim. Overall this beer is nothing special but to me even an average fresh beer in a brewpub is an enjoyable experience. Yes I’m a pub crawler. That’s what I like to do. I’m not like those dudes who talk about their abs. My car has drum brakes.

Sampled on draft at Zeno’s in State College PA this beer poured a black colorw ith a small brown head. The aroma was molasses, toasty malts, faint ripe cherries and a touch of cocoa. The flavor was dry, bitter and somewhat roasty but really lacking in depth. The finish was long, dry and roasty. Medium body. Eh.

On draft at EBB. Pours a dark cherry cola with a medium sized sandy white head. Aroma of roasted malts, cola, caramel and light vanilla. Taste is much the same as the aroma.

On tap, at the brewery. Pours a clear dark brown with a small light brown head that faded to a thin film. Nice chocolaty and roasty nose with some coffee and light green hops. Dry and roasty with less of a chocolate quality. Some light hop bitterness on the finish with a bit of astringency. A little lingering lightly soapy note. Mouthfeel is light bodied, watery in texture with fizzy prickly carbonation. Dries out a bit on the end. Decent, but it could use a bit more body.
