Cask @ White House, Stalybridge. Clear dark ruby with a thick creamy head. There’s chocolate in its taste which is dry with a coffee aroma.

Cask in the Kings Head W2. A deep reddish coloured ale with a thin white head. A very pleasant wintry ale, lots of red and dark fruit, a spicy hop finish, well balanced with sweet malt and bitterness. Very enjoyable.

Cask handpull at The Berry Walmer. Dark brown almost black beer lasting cream tan head. As my friend Kevin the Pickle said, this is a proper brown ale. Some chocolate some coffee some brown malt very light smoke. Decentddepth in the mouth. Dry maltiness on the finish. Pretty good

500ml bottle from Dick Whittington, Gloucester. Smooth, malty bitterness that caresses the palette before a peppery dose of hops finishes you off.

Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Dark mahogany with an off white foam. Aromas are chocolate and weetabix malts with raisins and some lactose. Earthy with pepper and herbal notes. Hints of smoke with some oiliness. Flavours are sweet roast malts with peat and lots of pepper on the finish. Raisins and Xmas pudding character with gritty dark chocolate bitterness and liquorice. Pretty good.
