On gravity at the brewery, Ardington 30/7/2011. Deep amber with a decent, off-white head. Fruity arona with caramel and earthy malts. Flavour had some marmalade, redcurrant and bready malts, leading to a lengthy bitter finish. Enjoyable.

500ml bottle. Clear copper with unstable small white head. Sweet malt aroma, some fruit, peach, apricot. Taste is fresh, dry, yeasty, a minimal watery fruit and citrus note gains ground in the middle part, dry bitter finish.

Cask Newcastle Arms. Wotsitallabout. Dark orange with a thin beige head. Bunged up and fluy so pass on the aroma. Muted hop and malt in the flavour and a slight smoky edge into a dryish finish but nothing that interesting. Drinkable though.

A Mes rate: Bottle at the Oi Oi Saveloy tasting at Chris O’s.
Hazy blonde, some floaters and a thin white head. Dusty hops that are a little on the tart side. A little overly malty and it puts it out of balance. I get the feeling either this bottle was slightly out of order or the bottle hadn’t traveled too well and the sediment had got mixed in with the rest of the beer.

At May Ratebeer London Gathering at Chris O’s. Gold, slightly hazy, with a white head. Fizzy and slightly metallic. Some sourness, very slight bitterness. Wasn’t convinced by this one.
