A Mes rate. Cask at the Southampton.
Mid brown colour with no head. Fruity malt aroma with some faint leather and smoke. Interesting. Once in the mouth, it’s a little soapy and there isn’t too much going on really. Some faint malt and hops but not enough to give it any character. Nice and dry in the finish. A little too thin on the palate. Ok, just really basic stuff.

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’10. Copper with white head. Underflavoured Best Bitter with a light flowery hop note and caramelised malt body. Fairly standard.

BCA that I picked up from Bellingers, Jet Garage, Grove Nr Wantage, Oxon, purchased and consumed the same day 03-01-10 Pours dark amber with slight orangeyness, though note that in our front room which Loz has like the Batcave it is difficult to be exact on colour, light off-white filmy head. Aroma throws off a little bit of meatiness, Oxo cubes maybe. Earthy and rustic flavours, but also a little thin after the chewy caramel and malty bite, lacks much in the way of bitterness, some minerals, its absolutely fine but I wish it could have offered a little more.
