Commercial Description:
Disclaimer: This is the entry for the first 4 batches of the beer made by De la Senne in 2006. From then onwards it was made by De Proef following a complete different recipe. If you had one lately, you probably should rate this one.

Easy-going and refreshing blonde with reasonable hop character. Squat 33 cL bottle at Poechenellekelder says Brasserie de Tubize. Not clear to me whether or this is still being brewed by Senne at De Ranke. Doesn’t matter. Pours a bright gold with nice, persistent, lacy head. Nose is grainy, farmy, hoppy--actually smells like an archetypal saison, for what it’s worth. Some lemon and grapefruit notes in the aroma too. Tastes moderately bitter with that citrus backdrop, some bready aspects there too. Refreshing, characterful, excellent.

33 cL bottle at Poechenellekelder. Hazy dirty gold color with a huge, fine, frothy head. Light lemon and fruit aromas. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Fruit and citrus flavors. Fairly dry. Slightly astringent. Very refreshing.

Bottle Clear, blond body. White, rocky head with a good lace. Aroma of flowers, honey and hops (nicely balanced). Lightly sweet, lightly bitter flavour. Decent beer, but not very complex.

Bottle. Clear light to medium yellow amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate yeasty, light malty, toasted. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (010907)

Blonde body with a large white head. Spices and barnyard on the nose. Very yeasty/fruity beer with plenty of spices flavours. Pineapples, coriander and more. Weird finish (not unpleasant, just weird) with some acidity, dry hops, brett?, whatever. Easy to drink light and unusual Belgian session beer. That’s one I would need to re-taste a few times to know what I really think of it. Not easy to come by but I betcha I’m gonna get me some Betchard.
