Sampled for Growler provided by weeare138. Poured a dark reddish / brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of general fruitiness, caramel and light alcohol. Tastes of fruits, brown sugar sweetness, roast, and had a medium alcohol finish.

On tap at the 2007 GABF: Transparent dark mahogany with a small, frothy dark tan head. Sweet, rich, caramely toffee aroma has a hint of German lager yeast and light fruity notes. Body starts with good German malty viscosity and caramely sweetness balanced with some mild bittering hops and doughy yeast. A very true to stlye and enjoyable doppelbock.

GABF 2007: Poured a clear golden brown color with a beige head. Lots of caramel in the aroma. Some raisin notes. Malty caramel flavor with some chocolate notes on the finish. Full bodied and semi-dry.
