DocLock (4175), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 21, 2006 This one is great. It pours deep magenta with minimal pinkish head. Solid aroma of cherry, currants, some funky notes, and some malt. The flavor is on the tart side, providing a huge currant and cherry flavor with some lambicy funky hints at mid-palate. Solid complexity and very well balanced. hopdog (4950), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 25, 2006 Sampled from Growler courtesy of egajdzis. Poured a deep and cloudy ruby red with a very small sized reddish/pink head. Aromas of berries (I was getting strawberries, raspberries and cranberries) and some funkiness. Tastes of the same with a nice puckering, tart finish. weeare138 (929), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 25, 2006 Thanks to egajdzis for the growler...
Appears a dense, haze of light pinkish purple with a small white head that quickly fades out.
Smell is of tart raspberries, cranberries, mild oak, slight funk.
Taste is of the aromas with a tart, salted berry flavor with a subdued vinegar likeness.
Mouthfeel is of dry tartness, medium bodied, spritzy along the sides of the tongue with a touch of sweetness up front. chriso (4434), London, Greater London, England Nov 18, 2006 On tap at the brewpub, July 2006. Darker pink colour. Really fine, funky aroma. Tart and sharp, with plenty of juicy fruit showing. One of the most authentic-tasting US fruit lambics I’ve tried. Very nicely done.
egajdzis (3138), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 24, 2006 Poured a hazy, ruby red color with a pinkish white head that left spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of light pretty, musty barnyard funk, dark berries, and candied fruits. Taste of sweet dark berries, with the skins, giving it a lingering tartness.
