2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 obxdude10 (1831) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 18, 2011
Just like the Knuckleball I tasted earlier in my recent visit to the Brew Works in Allentown, this amber lager was a big disappointment. It poured a copper color with absoutely no head. I got a bit of toasted malt and light hops in the aroma. But the flavors were very bland and light. This beer doesn’t really have all that much to offer. I tasted some toasted malt and very light hops in the body, along with a hint of bread.

Pours amber with a nice off white head. The aroma is caramel and berry fruit. The flavor is toasted with some caramel and a strong bitter burnt toast finish. I liked this one.

Growler shared by jcwattsrugger, thanks John. Poured a nice amber bodey that was slightly thin looking with a smaller light tan head. Aroma of grains, bread, dry hay and earth. Flavor is fresh cut grass, bread and crusty grains. Drinkable but it’s just an average amber.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Dickinsonbeer (5076) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - NOV 25, 2010
On tap at Allentown. Pours a clear light amber with a thin white head. Aroma is clean, fresh doughy malt, caramel, biscuit, light nuts, herbs and earth tones with hints of diacetyl. Flavor is fresh hopw- citrus, caramel malts, a bit corny and then more diacetyl- perhaps a slightly better version of yeungling, but not by much.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kramer (3454) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 14, 2010
On tap, at Allentown. Clear amber to copper body with a small fizzy off-white head that fell to a thin film. Dry, slightly grainy nose of toasted malt and a touch of hops. The flavor is dry and toasty with some caramel malt sweetness, a little huskiness and light hops on the finish. A little too boring, even if it’s fairly cleanly made. Mouthfeel is dry with a slight coarseness to it. Moderate fizzy carbonation. About what you’d expect, no more no less.

Ancient backlog. Aroma of spicy hops, light red fruit, pale malts. Flavor of pale malts, sweet hop-fruits, some plastic. Heavily carbonated and thin. Eh.

Draught at TJ’s: Aroma of malt, slight toasting, and slight caramel. Poured amber in color with a small, off-white head that disappeared. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malt, slight caramel, slight nuts, dried, leafs, and a hint of brown sugar. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malt finish. Boring and bland.
