fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA May 16, 2005 From the tap at BBW. Probably my favorite from the "sampler". Deep dark brown body with little head. Good mix of nutty and chocolate flavors. hopdog (4950), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 15, 2005 On tap at the Bethlehem Brew Works Brew Pub. Poured a dark brown with some red at the edges with a smaller sized off white head. No surprise here - nutty aromas and tastes with light chocolate. The hazelnut was not over done and worked well in this porter. biznizness (742), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA May 15, 2005 Had this last week with Jine. I could have sworn I rated this last year. Just to clarify, last year = incredibly sweet and rich hazlenut flavor, this year = not nearly as sweet. Last year’s version was a little too sweet to drink, though I found myself missing that this year. The mouthfeel was a little bit thick, and almost grainy. Good porter, though I think I preferred the old version. Jine (885), Nutley, New Jersey, USA May 10, 2005 5.06.05 on tap at the Brew Works
Very deep dark color. Hazelnut flavor works, I like it, this was just a little thin though, otherwise, good stuff.
I was sitting here thinking the other ratings were from the past couple weeks...but no...they’re from a year ago.
Guess this year’s version is a little better
r464 (273), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 30, 2004 Dark, dark, dark with a very small head. Smooth and tasty, but with WAY too much hazelnut flavor. It just overpowers an otherwise nice porter.
