BigSkyman007 (192), USA Aug 15, 2004 It wasn’t a bad Hefeweisen, but it seemed to be lacking flavor. Tasted a wee bit of citrus, with noticeable hoppiness. Maybe I got a bad batch or something, not bad, but nothing to brag about. I prefer the Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen...which is a bit fuller flavored.
jcwattsrugger (4272), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Sep 26, 2007 on tap-pours an off white head and cloudy yellow color. Aroma is fruity, banana, wheat, some clove, creamy. Taste is banana, wheat, yeast, a bit thin. Minimum/no carbonation. hopdog (4950), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 30, 2007 On tap at the BBW Brew Pub and listed as just ’Hefeweizen’. Poured a medium to deeper and cloudy golden color with an averaged sized white head. Served in a .5L Hefe glass with a slice of lemon. Aromas of lemons, bananas, cloves, ’sweaty’ wheat and a trace of bubble gum. Tastes of citrus, lighter bananas, and lighter cloves. Thirst quenching on this hot day. jon112981 (327), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Jun 10, 2007 Tap. Yellow cloudy color. Aroma is of lemon and banana. Odd mix that just wasn’t quite balanced. The spice flavors were present but kind of weak. chriso (4434), London, Greater London, England Nov 18, 2006 On tap at the brewpub, July 2006. Pale and cloudy. Light, clean and lemony. Subtle spice and apple notes also come through on the palate. No great depth of flavour but refreshing enough. OK, but not very German in style - I struggled to get any banana or cloves to speak of. More Belgian Wit if anything.
TomDecapolis (2629), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 31, 2006 Pours a cloudy darker golden with a very small bubbly white head that went away very quickly. Served at the brewpub with a slice of lemon. Aroma of clove, lemon, yeast and banana. Flavor of banana, clove, wheat as well as some...you guessed it lemon. I have much better Hefes.
