Our unique blend of roasted barley, chocolate, and black patent malts produces a nice medium bodied stout. Accented with notes of Fuggle and East Kent Golding hops.

on tap-pours a creamy, milky tan head that laces. Color is deep brown. Aroma is malt. Taste is coffee, malt, creamy. Smooth, but not my taste.

Aroma of chocolate, malts and oatmeal. Dark almost jet balck color with an off-white head. Tastes of chocolate and coffee sweetened a bit by the oatmeal. A very nice stout.

I had this on draft at BBW with the sampler. It seems to have a lot packed in here but the slightly wet mouthfeel gives it a smoothness which makes it a drinkable beer but not necesarily a noticeable one. The first thing I notice is a slight oatmeal flavor accentuated by malts and some roasted flavors but nothing stands out. I do like the mouthfeel of this one and drank it faster than the other 7.

On draught. The aroma of roasted dark malts and chocolate, light oatmeal. Arrived an almost opaque black with a nice thick creamy tan head. Flavor was good, chocolate, roasted malts and a light coffee. Palate was full and slick with just the right ammount of carbonation to lift it from your tongue. Overall I think the best of my night there, tasting and dining with my wife and son.

The final brew in the sampler (the sixth was a cider, which was good for dessert). Thick, dark black. A chocolatey, well-balanced stout. Quite smooth and buttery. Bitter, espresso finish. What’ll ya have? I’ll have a pint!

Sampled from growler. Deep brown in colour, small tan coloured head, some lace. The aroma was quite roasty, some dark chocolate, cream and butter. The flavour was toasty, bittersweet chocolate, some roasted malts, caramel, dark fruits and licorice. Sweet mouthfeel, lightish body, medium carbonation. Finishes slightly roasty, lingering. Not bad but fairly standard stuff.

basically your standard stout. Tasted more like a regular stout rather then other oatmeals that i’ve had. Nice dark colour and pretty smooth too.

08.03.05 Tap at brewpub. Deep ruby brown/black under a creamy tan head; spotty lace. Aroma is grainy, very roasty, no sweetness, acetic hints, lactic. Palate thin and dry. Some dried dark fruits, stark roasted malts. Again, not sweet. Lots of butter, plus acidic, plus tingly...it reminds me of rancid butter. Yum. This brewpub needs to take more pride in the condition of their beer.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2008 Poured a dark brown / reddish color with a small, tan, creamy head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of butter, chocolate, and roasty malts. Taste of chocolate, roasted malts, cherries, and other dried fruits. Not bad, though it seems the dirty lines didn’t let me experience this as it should have been.

Sampled from growler at the Ratebeer Mondial gathering in tiggmtl’s palatial country estate. No fizz when the growler is opened..uh oh...but the totally black, opaque body does develop a bit of diminishing head, though it looks a bit thin while pouring...big chocolaty nose with hints of rich light-to-medium roast Kona coffee...chocolaty-roasty body is a bit too thin and oily...some licorice makes a welcome late appearance, offering some complexity and herbal comforts. I would love to have this in better condition.
