BigSkyman007 (192), USA Mar 13, 2002 Almost black in color...great head on it...a good moreso ’sipping’ beer, only served on tap, I wish they’d bottle this stuff and sell it, but it’s a very impressive stout...
jason (1517), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA May 31, 2008 Draft. Nice black body with thin head. Aroma is light chocolate, roast. Flavor is sweet chocolate, coffee roast and oats. Thin body. illinismitty (1493), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Mar 7, 2008 Draft at brewpub. Pours a very deep brown with a nice creamy tan head. Medium-full bodied with a creamy texture. Nicely blended flavors of dark roast, oats, and chocolate with just enough bitterness to balance things out. Finish is dry and a tad ashy. Nice beer. NicerInPerson (337), North of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Nov 4, 2007 The aroma was lightly fruity and roasty with a bit of chocolate. Mostly the aroma was filled with esters. The beer arrived pitch black opaque with a tan frohty head which stood super tall to lace the glass. The flavor was roasty and lightly winey with a strong estery presence. Chocolate and roast with an espresso and caramel which improved by leaps and bounds as the beer warmed. The finish was dry with a lasting winey presence too long into the aftertaste. The body was medium-full and the carbonation was nicely done making the beer creamy and smooth on the palate. An ok beer, but not wonderful due to flaws. Pint at BBW. Beerdedone (1663), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 27, 2007 Draft sampled at brewery. Pours black with a nice tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, light coffee, and a hint of chocolate. Flavor is similar to aroma with a nice roasty finish. argo0 (6334), Washington DC, USA Oct 11, 2007 (draft, Bethlehem) Creamy tan head with brown-balck body. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, some chocolate. Taste is medium sweet, roast, some chocolate, coffee. Watery light-medium body, easy drinking. Seems more like a dry stout.
