COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Coriandor spice, French oak chips and dark Belgian candi sugars give this beer a very unique taste. It is fermented with Forbidden Fruit and Belgian wheat yeast.

Clear red pour. No head or lace to speak of. A spicy and sugary aroma. Wheat, oak, and hop. Taste is minimal hop, sweet malt and dark fruits.

One thing I’ve always been a sucker for with BBW is their spicy beers and this one doesn’t disappoint with some oak in there, a dry mouthfeel, some malty spices (I think I prefer cardamom to coriander spice now), a peppery aroma, and a candycane finish. A good growler beer. I like the hops but they may be a bit too much for this style.

Draft sampled at brewery. Pours a dark amber with a off-white head. Aroma of oak, raisins, earth, and some notes of dark fruit. Flavor is caramel, candi sugar, fruit, and some spices

On tap at the BBW Brew Pub. Poured a deeper amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of smoke, spices, earthy, raisins, vanilla, oak, and fruity. Tastes of vanilla, ligtht wood, candi sugar, caramel, and light spices. Lacing left on the glass.

Pours a translucent golden amber with a small off white head that left some lacing. Aroma I was really picking up the spices, but more like "holiday" spices. Maybe it was the cardimom? Hard to get past the spices for me. Was picking up the same thing in the flavor. Maybe picking up some of the candi sugars in the flavor. Didn’t remind me much of a Belgian Ale. As you can tell from my rating I enjoyed it. Just wasn’t expecting what I got :)

The beer list says this is an "advanced palate beer" and I would pretty much agree. The oak is definitely present in the finish, and the flavor is rich with spices and caramel. Feels like this should have had more alochol in it, but a great offering from BBW.

Growler - Totally reminds me of a Finnish Sahti. Clear sparkling copper, thin white head. Ultra complex nose of chardonay grapes, oak, spice, must, earth and wet twigs. The flavor practically matched aroma with additional dark fruit notes and a slight hint of caramel and toffee. Medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, clean, light bitter and wood finish. Similar in nature to Heavyweight’s Juhlia. A very nice surprise....

Thanks to my brother in law for a growler of this. Pours deep copper with ruby edges. Aroma of definite oak, malt, bourbon, and dark fruit esters. Tastes malty, with some oak, toffee, and a semi-dry dark fruit at the finish. Very smooth on the palate. The little brother of Arrogant Bastard. I cant’ believe the variance on the ratings for this.

On tap at the BBW, this was the best beer out of the sampler, the spices come out in the aroma, with hints of the yeast and fruits. The body was a golden color and the head sat on top for the entire time it took me to drink the other 5 beers and the length of this one. Nutmeg and spices come out stong, and the back of the taste is an excellent blend of malts and hops. Body was very smooth and clean, somewhere in the middle of medium and full. I thought this was excellent.

Sampled at the Brandywine beerfest at Iron Hill in Media, Pa. Good beer. A little thin but very drinkable. The coriandor was there but real faint.
