jerc (3330), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 21, 2007 Cask @ Volo Cask Days 2007. Ruby tinged brown body with a small beige head. (3+) Aroma of scorched caramel with a sweet malty base (7+) Sweet malty flavour with a tangy bitter note to it. Labeled as 8% abv, but you would never know it from the flavour. Lacks the punch of a barleywine, but is fairly quaffable albeit simplistic. tomthompson89 (1245), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 22, 2007 Cask at Volo cask days 2007. This was the last one i had. Nose was Apple i found kinda brown amber color some foam, flavor was malty with little hops to my palate. Very well hidden alcohol. Intresting beer mabel (1748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 29, 2007 [769-20071020] Cask @ Volo Cask Days 2007 (Toronto, ON). Sweet burnt leafy caramel aroma like week-old oven burn. Clear, amber red body with a quick off-white head. Sweet malt whiskey without the tang flavour has caramel floral fruit notes. Smooth medium body. Alcohol is hidden. GregClow (2395), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 27, 2007 Cask at Volo Cask Days 2007. Clear amber with a tiny, bubbly head. Aroma of sweet malt and a bit of booze. Thin body. Flavour is sweet, with notes of toffee and licorice, and a very quick finish. Not a bad beer, and surprisingly mild given the alcohol percentage, but it lacks the bosy and character of a real barley wine. Appearance :Clear amber red with small long lasting tanned top. 3+
Nose :
Light hint of smoked dry wood, ripe fruit , meadow hop with drying alcohol followed by dark malt whiff.
Flavour/Palate :Medium light bodied with semi-oily textures. Sour front shown with alcohol but not to dry. Fairly thin for Barley ale . Some chewy citric end. Barley that need more substance.
