Commercial Description:
Not like most traditional ales we use 3 different malted barleys creating a medium bodied amberish ale. We then selected European hops and yeast, naturally carbonating and aging the beer for almost four weeks. This produces an incredibly smooth ale (5% alc.vol) that even the ladies will enjoy.

Bottle. Limpid amber body with good carbonation and an average off-white bubbly head. Boring malty/hoppy aroma with some candy and brown sugar notes. Decent but one-dimension hoppy taste that ends with a short bitter finish. Neither bad or exciting.

I thought that this ale was a fairly nice, if not quite standard in most markets, blond ale. There was a nice hop bitterness in the finish that was complimented by a sweet malt that wasn’t too sweet, as is usually the case.

Golden amber in colour, very quickly dissipating white head, no lacing. The aroma is lightly toasty, some caramel malts, light citrus. The flavour is of some light caramel malt sweetness, wheat, some grains, light citrus hops. Fizzy mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium carbonation. Finishes lingering, lightly bitter. Boring. Why are breweries in Ontario so scared of taking chances?

341ml bottle from the <a href=http://www.lcbo.com/ target=blank>LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario, no best before date.

33cl bottle, Shelburne. Sweet dark aroma, similar to other dark beers from Ontario. Not as sweet as I thought it would be from the smell, very carbonated but suppose that goes with the target market. Tasty beer, though better for this style out there I would think.

Bottle from Len, thanks! Blond ale? Pours out alot darker than any blond ale I’ve ever seen. Looks like liquid rust. Smell is fruity and yeasty. Taste is similar, pretty easy to drink, goes down smooth. Not bad, maybe not something I would want again, but it was good to try it. Thanks!

Bottle. LCBO. Pours amber gold with small fizzy top. Mild earthy, grainy aroma. Medium light body, with gentle earthy notes like shy version British ales. Fairly smooth but forgettable.

Sampled at the LCBO Summerhill Festival. Bitterness there, but also harshness. and a melange of malt. Little yeast there but vegatable rather than fruity taste. Yellow with lace at end of glass. Dry, metallic. Aggressive carbonation.Thin body and little head.

A couple of samples today from the brewer rep at an LCBO. SUrprisingly tasty, though aroma is cow poo. I believe an English hop, significantly malted. Harsh mid sip through finish with higher than desired carbonation. Had 2.5 years later and much better and have raised my rating.
