This character is subdued in the palate by an underfermented wortiness. Finishes off-dry. Bitterness is low. Uneventful generic amber/EPA. Medium light body, with gentle earthy notes like shy version British ales. Fairly smooth but forgettable. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 8, 2005 bottle. thanks Tupalev. pours a clear, dark copper body with a short-lasting white head. aroma is predominately toasted malt and sweet grain. Well I can safely say that there isn’t anything particularly offensive about this beer, but there isn’t really any substance that sets it apart. Sweet and bready flavours with moderate carbonation and a short soapy finish. gilvanblight (397), Windsor, Ontario, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Mar 27, 2006 Orangy pour with a very thin head. Lots of scent, maple and sweet honey. Very full taste for a Canadian beer. Maple honey and maltes. Suprisingly good, a great session beer. HogTownHarry (4037), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 29, 2005 Bottle (341ml). Thanks to tupalev!. Poured clear gold, bubbly, with a minimal diminishing white head. Aroma is very woody, almost resiny, with cereal notes, maybe a hint of hops - clean, anyway. I guess this is salty - I think of it as cedary - the wood, not the greenery - there’s dry malt, grain ... MOR. Mouthfeel is dryly acidic - overall nothing wrong with it, but it’s a bit harsh and not that enjoyable. wilderthanyou (423), Guelph, Ontario, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 20, 2007 Looks like coca-cola, bang on. Smells like the inside of a hollow log, peet, with some sweet chocolate notes. Flavours get a little deeper as the beer warms slightly, but still relatively thin, lightly malty sweet, a touch of hops, with a decent dry finish. A good effort, but the lack of depth and watery mouthfeel hold this beer back considerably. Barnabus (30), Niagara, Ontario, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 11, 2008 Sampled at the brewery. It is certainly drinkable, but lacks anything distinctive. The hops are very mild and the aroma is slightly fruity. Cartoonkhaki (1150), Brantford, Ontario, Canada
