Oakes (7032), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 19, 2008 Opaque beige. Slightly wheaty, lightly fruity nose. Spicy, spritzy character. Wheaty towards the finish with a hint of spice. Decent example. Radek Kliber (3403), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 9, 2007 On tap Beer Bistro
Appearance :Murky gold with bright crown on top.
Nose:Slightly funky front with good wit like aroma, grainy with banana touches, noticeable wheat character.
Flavour/Palate:
Soft bodied wheat with gentle citric overtone. Wheat bread notes in middle. Soft smooth finish.
HogTownHarry (3361), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Aug 26, 2007 Draught. At BeerBistro, 2007 Golden Tap Awards. Pale, cloudy, slightly greenish yellow, with an average head. Didn’t care for that aroma - really, REALLY lemon-juice sour, but not in much of a good way, funky yeast and wheaty grain try to vie for attention, but just get buried. The taste was really solid, though - smooth wheaty grain, apple and lemon juice, soft lush yeast - really well done. Decent body for the style - seemed more a Belgian wit to me than a hefe - decently fruity and astringent, only mildly carbonated, dry, and it slipped off the palate a little to quickly, I thought, and no aftertaste. Clean, refreshing, and hardly any banana innit. jerc (3268), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 11, 2007 TFOB 2007. Draft. Hazy, light pastel yellow bdoy with a small foamy white head. (3+) Aroma is quite yeasty, with light notes of lemon zest. (7+) Zippy lemon zest in the flavour, with light notes of yeastiness and a very light bitterness. Flavour is on the mild side but is a rather decent example of a wheat beer. Average palate. Nice beer. +1 Over all for going organic as well. Sammy (3242), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 26, 2007 Enjoyed at Victory Cafe on tap. The brewery has been expanding their choices- they can brew. Light yellow almost beige, with crowning head and carbonation bubbles. Light mouthfeel, a sugared down sourness. Above average carbonation. Wheat aroma. Quaffable. More of an American pale wheat than a hefe in my little opinion.
