3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 pushkinwow (729) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 5, 2011
Tap at Arrow & Loon Called Bohemian Pilsner but assuming its an alias. Clear yellow, no head. Crisp, clear and fresh but not much in terms of hops, grains or flavour - bit of a lager taste though. Dry finish. However on a hot day, on a patio this is decent beer.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lubiere (6707) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 21, 2010
A hazy blonde pils with a super thick collapsing white head. In aroma, a lightly lactic infected aroma, getting into lambic territory, not bad. In mouth, a chalky gueuzy pilsner, getting unpleasant as beer warms up.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Spab (1114) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 17, 2010
On tap at K-W Ribfest and Craft Beer Show (as "Nickel Brook Light"). Pours a near clear yellow/gold with moderate-sized white head. Aroma is light and fruity. Flavour is quite fruity with some light grains. Decent body and flavour for a "light" beer.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 blankboy (4281) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 30, 2010
Bottle [341ml] at The Brewers Plate event. Pours a clear golden-orange with a small creamy white head. Aroma’s slightly buttery along with grain and corn. Flavour is watery and buttery, not a good start, after that I get some notes of fruit, caramel malt and grain. Medium bodied. Disappointing, this should be and could be much better.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 matt7215 (1564) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 7, 2009
ive had countless bottles of this and tons of times on tap. very light pale yellow with a snow white head that rarley lasts. minimal carbonation. 2 row barley and minimal hopping for aroma. the flavour is clean light and refreshing. its a decent light lager and worth a tick if you come across it.
2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MrChopin (2060) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - AUG 1, 2009
Bottle thanks to matt7215! Opaque gold, moderate white head that runs away pretty quickly. Nose is grainy with corn and wheat, maybe hints of lemon (I am cleaning furniture, so that may be the lemon). Strong wheat keeps the flavor from sinking into swill. Crisp body but only the faintest hints of cracker finish. Still, surprisingly light and refreshing. Would be an improvement if this was in most local bars.
2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Elkas (213) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 21, 2009
On tap at Juniors Bar & Grill. Labled Nickel Brook Pilsner. Very light gold with no head. Nice malt backbone kept it interesting. Nice beer, though it should be simply labled "light", as it isn’t a pilsener.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 tupalev (2708) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 19, 2009
On tap KW beer fest. Really pale yellow with small white head. Very little flavour, no hops at all. Clean and well made but absolutely lacking in any flavour here to recommend it, even as a light offering (Stonehammer and Anti Gravity had far more flavour in comparison).
