COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When creating the recipe for this beer, we bore in mind what one associates with oatmeal. Hence the base was laden with a bunch of oat flakes, roasted malts and roasted barley. The end result reflects this - intensive flavours, a coffee and dark chocolate aroma and a creamy texture. So we would not smother this, we added only as much hops as was needed to delicately balance the flavour.

Black colour with big beige head and nice lacing. Moderate aroma of dark coffee and some roastiness. Taste is quite rich, slightly sweet on the beginning and medium dry and bitter on the finish. Smooth palate. Medium body. Really taste stout!

Grifo. Vaso Nonic. Sabrosa. On-tap. Nonic glass. Enjoyed @Freiburg (Barcelona). Pure black color headed by beige foam. Crown is creamy, lasting & leaves rings on sides. Coffee grain, caramel malt & herbal aromas. Creamy chocolaty upfront. Medium to full body. Moderate to soft carbonation. Dense texture & velvety palate. Bitter dark chocolate flavor in a dry finish & long aftertaste. Flavorful.

(33 cl bottle courtesy of MarkoNM; BBD: October 23rd 2014) Pours black with medium, tan head that fades to a surface film. Good lace. Aroma is dominated by coffee notes with hints of berries. Creamy texture, medium body, soft carbonation and a roasted slightly ascerbic finish. Flavour is roasted malt bitterness with a tart, ascerbic edge. Decent.

Nice dark brown color with minimal brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, flakes, roasted malt. Sweet nose. Medium body. Taste is a bit sweet, one would expect more from the sweet nose, and it’s followed by just a little bitterness. Really good one.

Bottle from the Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Pours black with a nice tan head. Some nice roast flavour in this. Notes of chocolate and coffee. To me the mouthfeel is pretty thin and watery and lets it down somewhat.

Black beer with a thin beige head. Light smell of chocolate and malt. Flavour follows suit but there’s a strong, tangy fruit element as well. Fortunately this doesn’t blow the more traditional stout elements out altogether. Nicely balanced and really tasty.
