When creating the recipe for this beer, we bore in mind what one associates with oatmeal. Hence the base was laden with a bunch of oat flakes, roasted malts and roasted barley. The end result reflects this - intensive flavours, a coffee and dark chocolate aroma and a creamy texture. So we would not smother this, we added only as much hops as was needed to delicately balance the flavour.

Nice dark brown color with minimal brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, flakes, roasted malt. Sweet nose. Medium body. Taste is a bit sweet, one would expect more from the sweet nose, and it’s followed by just a little bitterness. Really good one.

Very dark brown, almost completely black color, average sized tan head. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Coffee, roasted malt, oatmeal and chocolate in the aroma and taste. Medium sweet, light bitter. Some sourness in the finish.

Bottle from the Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Pours black with a nice tan head. Some nice roast flavour in this. Notes of chocolate and coffee. To me the mouthfeel is pretty thin and watery and lets it down somewhat.

Black beer with a thin beige head. Light smell of chocolate and malt. Flavour follows suit but there’s a strong, tangy fruit element as well. Fortunately this doesn’t blow the more traditional stout elements out altogether. Nicely balanced and really tasty.

Nice malty-dry in the nose, the beer starts smooth and very dry roasted. Intense smooth Espresso with milk-chocolate in the mainpart. The roast is everywhere, but smooth. Still a bit sweetness left that helps the drinkability. The aftertaste is long, roasted fresh, easy to drink and still deep.
A very great brew! Fresh, malty-roasted, dry with moderate bitterness, nice oats. 13/12/13/13

Apariencia: Color negro y espuma marrón claro con una retención excelente. Aroma: Sutil y muy agradable en el que se evidencia el cacao y las notas a café. Sabor: Similar al aroma; muy equilibrada con notas a vainilla y cereal.

Bottle. Smal head with good lacing, black. Very strong aroma of chocolate, coffee and cereal. Coffee and dark chocolate in flavor. Oily texture, low carbonation. That is a fantastic oatmeal stout.
