3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 downender (5191) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - APR 1, 2013
Cask-conditioned at the Herefordshire & Worcestershire beeriodical, the Seven Stars, Bristol March 2013. Golden with a slick of a white head. Citrus fruit, slightly sweet and jammy, some solid biscuity malts and a dryish finish. Good.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DruncanVeasey (6116) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2013
Bottle from Connolly’s, Olton. Bright gold with a skim of white foam. Muted aroma with suggestions of pine, jazz cigarette, butter, overripe satsuma. Soft-conditioned, slightly dank with Sorachi-like orange and fennel flavours; biscuit, shampoo, pine, lightly buttered malt sweetness. Bitter to finish without being hoppy. Unexciting and a bit dead but drinkable.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jmgreenuk (1288) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 28, 2012
Bottle from Connollys Wines, Solihull. Poured a clear amber colour with a foamy white head. The aroma is malty with spicy notes. The flavour is peppery spicy hoppy with some dryness on the palate. This was not at all what I was expecting at all. This is my first beer from Bewdley and it won't be the last.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BlackHaddock (2365) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - DEC 7, 2012
500ml Bottle BBE Sep 2013: poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard @ home on 7th Dec 2012.
Golden hue to this light brew: good, full head of snow white foam on top, looks good, clear and bright.
This stronger version of ’Worcestershire Way’ is fairly sweet and although it uses the same hops it seems to have a bigger maltier aroma and taste than its weaker brother.
Biscuity, baked malts in the nose and mouth with the hops being pushed towards the end of each gulp to give a satisfying semi-bitter finish.
The body depth is fine with the alcohol being hidden nicely: a very pleasant brew, I like the sweeter brews.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 imdownthepub (8492) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 3, 2012
Bottled, 500ml from Hop & Stagger Bottleshop, Bridgnorth, Shrops. Gold with white head. Another Bewdley bottled beer that tastes just a little flat, it is also quite sweetish in character with an orange fruitiness. Ends just a little syrupy perhaps but it’s ok.
