Not your Bavarian grandfather’s wheat beer. We use grapefruit zest and pulp at different points in the process to insert the character of the fruit into the beer, and hops are carefully selected to emphasize the citrus notes. But don’t expect this to taste like the first course of Sunday breakfast; the fruit flavour is subtle, and the bitter quality of the grapefruit is balanced nicely by a bit of sweetness in the finish.

Mini growler picked up from the brewery. Hazy orange with an off white head. Grapefruit pulp with a bit of zest but it requires a fair amount of sniffing to get it, very slight wheat and not too much else; mild carbonation and body, plain but light sweetness on the palate, becomes dry with a bit of grapefruit again on the finish.

Very tasty grapefruit bitterness. Thin, long lasting head that leaves a decent sticky lacing. Beautiful golden colour. Perfect summer beer. Definitely the best I’ve had of this style. You’ll regret buying just one...

Got a mini growler at the new brewery. Pours a dull light amber colour with slight cloudiness and has barely any head to it. Has some nice floral hops aromas with hints of nutmeg. Flavours are sort of on the grapefruit side, not very tangy. Also citrus and herbal hops round out the slightly sweet flavours. Watery mouthfeel at first and also a bit prickly. Medium bodied and good carbonation. 6% abv is not noticeable in this brew. Not too bad and pretty easy to drink. Seems to be a nice summer type beer. Will enjoy again at a later date. :)

Can thanks to Marc L., thanks dude! Pours a pretty hazy yellow with a medium white head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of citrusy hops and zest. I definitely get the grapefruit. Taste is not quite sweet and moderately bitter, offers more citrus and zest. Light sweetness in the finish. Body is medium and carbonation moderate. Alcohol is felt a little. Not bad at all! I thought this would be more like a fruit beer and in reality it is closer to a really nice white IPA. I’m all for that!

473 mL Can. Murky pale straw body with a foamy white head settling to a thin layer leaving clingy lace. Aroma of grapefruit and some kind of spice I can’t quite pinpoint; there is also a pungent earthy note. It tastes like white grapefruit and again a spice I can’t identify; no it’s not coriander. Hop-bitter and grapefruit rind aftertaste, a grapefruit rind finish. Mysterious in its own way, yet pretty good beer.

Tasting at Matt’s, can
Cloudy pale blond color. Delicate citrusy aroma. A bit too yeasty and dirty, dusty in the final, but with some decent zesty touch.
Not bad.

Pours a hazy orange colour with a fluffy white head. Aroma of grapefruit and not much else. Tastes not dissimilar to a light wheat ale radler; this is pretty juicy. But not sweet, and still has some body. Refreshing!

500mL can, pours a cloudy opaque yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of grapefruit upfront, with a prominent zestiness, and even a bit of hoppy bitterness. Flavour is bright and fresh, with lots of citrus zest and crisp biscuity malt. Bright, fresh and quite drinkable. Good for what it is.

Can - Grapefruit peel. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Grapefruit and nice wheat notes which actually remind you this is a beer. For what it is a thumbs up.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
