Cloudy orange with great head and lacing. Light bretta, and good citrus. Great balance - everything is as it should be. Orange, with some light hay. Tart finish. Oak is light but noticeable. Tap at Churchkey.

Hazy orange, no head. Aroma has a lot of green apple, hint of funk. Flavor is full, tart, a bit herbal, some green apple and some other fruit I can’t place. Really good stuff.

Slightly hazed yellow orange pour with a big white head that fades to a cap. Aroma is green apple, white wine, wood, lemon, and light funk. Taste is funk, lemon, light tropical fruit, oak, and green grape. Lightly sour. Complex. Light body with soft carbonation and a slight prickle. Fantastic beer.

A steady pour into my large Tripel Karmeliet tulip glass produces an almost three-finger thick, pale tan colored head that leaves some nice lacing on the sides of my glass. The beer is a pale amber / honey color that shows a bright, but hazy, orange-tinged, straw hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells of herbal lemon zest notes, Meyer Lemon, or perhaps mandarine orange. This is backed and accentuated by a solid tartness, and a funky, not quite ripe cheesy, but definitely oaky / woody character. The aroma gets more complex the deeper you dig with lots of mustiness, toasted oak, summer baked straw, and woody leaning soft pepper notes.

The beer has a light tartness up front that accentuates some fruit character, but finishes with a balancing, funky, sort of woody, medicinal leaning phenolics that linger pervasively on the palate long into the finish. Denuded peppery, spicy aok charactermusty, funky woody notes, slight curing plastic flavors, . There is a solid bite of bitterness to the finish that is accentuated by the funky, phenolic yeast notes. The body of this beer makes this impressively quaffable, yet not overly light or watery; there is just enough viscosity to give this some texture, and the oak character definitely contributes a tannic heft. As the beer warms up there is a solid, pale malt cracker like character that also accentuates a dried hay like character.

This is a really nice beer; funky, yet soft, complex, textured, tartly quaffable, but not overly sour, nicely malty, even some hop character. Not as tart or funky as I might have expected, but it makes up for it with its balance of flavors and complexity.

TPSA. Today’s word, boys and girls, is sharp. Pours a cloudy gold with a thin, off-white head. Really spicy and sour on the nose, with a sinus-smarting tingle to it. Sharp and lactic on the tongue, with orange and white pepper notes; it has the same bite as aged hard cheese. The finish remains clean, but turns acetic. Intense, and swings darn close to being a sour, but definitely worth checking out.

Pours unclear orange honey with a sandy white head. Aroma is amazing bringing sweet tart funk from the barrels. Body is crisp with nice tart funk and wild yeast flavors from the barrels rounding out the saison yeast, so refreshing.

Hardly a saison as this is really more down the vein of a gueuze. But a fantastically interesting brew nonetheless: sour, fruity (apples, grapefruit, plums) and a woody or nutty taste.
