Bottle (aged in Bon Chien Barrels) Pour a rich golden orange color with a big three fingers of foam that laces nicely. This beer is beautiful and rides the line of saison and sour beer beautifully. Ripe orange, bitter citrus pith, fresh grass, rustic dusty field funk. Im a bit bias because I love saisons as well as sour wild beers and this beer merges the two styles seamlessly. Great carbonation, brett barnyard funk. Just gorgeous !

Served on tap at the Thirsty Monk. Poured a hazy dark orange with a solid white head with amazing lacing. Aroma of fresh fruit with the likes of pears and peaches. There is just the slightes hint of barnyard funk which is enough to keep it interesting. The flavor is very juicy with the same peaches and pears present in the aroma but much more powerful here. More funkiness but it plays nicely in the background. The fruityness lasts throughout but transitions wonderfully into an absolutely bone dry finish like a great Saison should. Overall, this is one of the best Saisons I have experienced and a truly world-class beer. Glad I was able to try it.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden body with large creamy white head. Nose is citric peel, horseblanket, hay, lemon juice and hints of pale malts. Very refreshing. Taste is fresh citric tones, lemon juice, horseblanket, hay, lime peel and hints of bitter herbs and dry grass in the back. Medium, smooth body and high carbonation, adding to the freshness in a simple yet elegant way. Amazingly refreshing; the subtle funk tones and lemon-acidity makes for great drinkability and the complexity virtually begs me to take one sip after another. Just fantastic stuff. This goes straight to the top spots of my Saison list for sure - well brewed BMF! :-)

Zdecydowane tresciwe kwaskowate niczym poczciwy stary Lambick. Wspaniale piwo sezonowe z wielka slomakowa i trwala piana. Koloru zoltego z jasno pomaranczowymi refleksami. Piwo przemile delikatnie kwaskowe zero slodkosci. Cala masa drozdzy i metne po calosci. Super piwo i super wrazenia. Otrzymalem to co sie spodziewalem, moze rownac sie z najlepszymi Saison z Belgii. Polecam

Amazing beer with an incredibly fascinating barrel character, somewhat reminds me of some burgundy BA stuff I’ve had, really funky, nice spiciness, yogurty, good stuff.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2013 Bottle (750 ml). Thanks Brett! Beautiful bright golden with a rocky off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is fruity with lemon, winey notes, Saison yeast, light tartness, vinous notes, light spiciness/pepper, wood. Taste is moderately sweet with fruits, lemon, wood, light tartness, winey notes, light spiciness and yeast. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Mouthfeel is slightly winey and slightly dry. Really complex with an amazing balance! Barrel treatment isn’t overpowering, it’s really well done. Amazing beer! Refreshing, drinkable... so good! With a little less sweetness and a little more carbonation, this could be the perfect beer! I had high expectations for this one, but I never thought it would be that good. Awesome! EDIT: I tried another bottle (shared by czar, thanks) and it seems that there’s an important bottle variation. There was a lot let wine in this bottle and too much apples in both aroma and taste. The score for this bottle would be: 8-4-8-4-15 = 3.9.

Riktigt gott.

Multiple keykeg draught glasses, both buttermilk yeast-hazy (end of key) and clear - both supremely original, extending the sense of what new world dryhopped & fancybarreled saison can be, without making a travesty of it. - Shorthand: tastes like freshly squeezed yellow grapefruit juice in buttermilk with an intense lime pith finish. - Will have to elaborate from minute notes, but just this: even in between De la Senne/Thiriez and Cantillon Lambic from tap/pump, this was the most stellar pour...spectacular, on point and that to the point where its Swiss cleanliness becomes an asset? Ben oui.

floral, pale, sparkling, white foam, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, medium sourness, medium body, thin feel, fizzy, astringent, Beautiful color, refreshing. The sip is like a road leading to a hidden clearing in the forest. Easy path first, fruity, then sour and bitter bumpy part to finally reach the beautiful spot: all taste merge into a glorious final. Excellent beer...

On tap at Rustico in Alexandria. Served in a stange. Pours a fairly-hazy golden-peach color with a thin, bubbly white head that feel somewhat quickly into a lasting thin collar atop the beer. The nose started with some light stone fruits beside some light grain and straw. As it warmed, there was a bit of light spice and mild tropical fruit. Along with the slight acidity, the fruits gave off a bit of a kiwi and pineapple impression. Flavor was even better with the acidity picking up and really carrying the flavors through. Beautiful fruit and strong along with a touch of backing pepper and yeasty spice. Body was light and crisp, really popping. It was incredibly difficult to put this one down. Ultra delicious and one of the best saisons that I’ve ever had.
