Appearance: pours with a very large beige head, the beer is a slightly hazy darker gold color, takes a while for the head to settle and it's very dense Aroma: lemon, banana, bread, spice, funk Taste: egg, faint sourness, lemon, spicy Palate: soft carbonation, medium mouthfeel, minimal lemon aftertaste Overall: this saison is great, the funk comes thru as egg and really gives it a nice mouthfeel, the lemon is there with the spice and they combine nicely, alcohol is hidden well ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slight gusher even after I had the bottle in the fridge after I bought it. Huge head of foam this beer brings; it took quite a few wee additions to get a full glass. Very cloudy, it looks like a glass of grapefruit juice thanks to the completely disappearing foam. The nose is delightful. Mild funky notes, light spice, hints of some souurness going on, and a rather substantial aroma of a hoppy bitterness. There’s that oak character. I deliberately searched for it right off the bat as I couldn’t get any from the smell. The usual flavours settle in quick smart. Light funk, some lemon citrus, a dash of spice as in pepper and very light clove, and a minimum of a fruity tartness. Scratch that. The tart notes are getting more noticeable with every sip. I would call it on the lighter side of medium bodied with rather light carbonation, which surprises me. I am very impressed with this Saison by BFM!

SlackerMads (2052) - DENMARK - JUN 13, 2015
Bottle, 2015 version. Hazy yellow/orange with a medium sized good lasting and lacing off white head. Wonderful nose of oak, barnyard, leather, grapes, pepper. Same things for the flavour with the barnyard and oak dominating with lots of fruit, lemon, pepper, light bread, hay and mould behind. Very nice balance with some filling sweetness, light/medium acidity and a light dry and bitter finish. Long finish with barnyard, leather, grain and fruit. Perhaps a bit more towards a sour/wild ale than traditional saison, but well rounded, complex and drinkable.

750ml bottle (HBF2015, Helsinki)
Pleasant sour aroma, a touch wheaty, some lemony sharpness. Even sourer in the taste, delicious classic sour, doesn’t feel forced or fake. Not sure it’s a saison, it’s closer to lambic. Finish has wheaty grains that fades slowly, very nice.

On tap at Hako anniversary. Probably hazy yellow. Distinct saison taste and aroma of vinegar, very pure. No bullshit, just saison very, VERY well done.

750ml bottle. Hazy, bright golden colour with average to huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Complex, fruity, floral, yeasty and slightly spicy aroma, notes of bubblegum and sherbet, yellow stone fruit, lemon zest, pollen, a vinous touch, hints of oak, peppery overtones; a bretty touch with "longdrop" notes throughout. Taste is slightly tart, citrusy fruity, spicy, yeasty, white pepper overtones, orange zest, peach peel, bretty bubblegum and piss interludes; cautious oaky and vinous hints in the finish, smooth, soft, though slightly prickling carbonation. Superb balance of a plethora of flavours.

Aroma: barnyard, wet hay, zest, some spicy and grassy notes. Taste: Moderate sourness, moderate to low bitterness. Flavour hase baked apples, hay, sweet malts. Bitter and sour aftertaste. Possible this was not bad, but I didn’t expect so much brett notes from saison. This is not my beer.

BOTTLE 75 CL from CH-303. Vintage 2014. Hazy golden, off-white creamy head. A peppery classic saison aroma, with lots of bretty barnyard notes. The taste dry and spicy, moderately acid, lactic acidity and a nice hoppy bitter finish too. Very good.
