4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Rustico in Alexandria. Served in a stange.
Pours a fairly-hazy golden-peach color with a thin, bubbly white head that feel somewhat quickly into a lasting thin collar atop the beer.
The nose started with some light stone fruits beside some light grain and straw. As it warmed, there was a bit of light spice and mild tropical fruit. Along with the slight acidity, the fruits gave off a bit of a kiwi and pineapple impression. Flavor was even better with the acidity picking up and really carrying the flavors through. Beautiful fruit and strong along with a touch of backing pepper and yeasty spice.
Body was light and crisp, really popping. It was incredibly difficult to put this one down. Ultra delicious and one of the best saisons that I’ve ever had.

Yellow pour with a white head. The aroma has some lemons, wheat and pepper notes. The flavor is a mix of wheat with some nice tart lemon notes. I also get a bit of Belgian yeast. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle, pours sparkling golden orange, clear, with fine creamy head which comes to rest on the surface, great retention and build-up of lacing. Aroma is funky tropical notes, brett, citrus, light toasted malts and hay, barnyard and wood. Taste is green apple, pear, apricot, tropical notes, mild tartness, yogurt and brett, white wine finish, funky. Medium body, lively carbonation, refreshing. Really reminds me of similar offerings from Hill Farmstead/Grassroots Delicious.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy very pale golden hue topped by a healthy, fully lasting white sheet. Intriguing aroma, rather intense with a straight to the point funky side reminiscent of wild flowers, eucalyptus, alguae, dusty cobwebs, moldy lychen on forest trees and rocks. Certainly has a green, almost vegetal component to it, but this remains perhaps underneath the highly lemony lactic character that resembles a lambic. Very dry mouth presence, an impression further amplified by vigorous carbonation and a very mineral, almost salty mouth presence. Tight, lean palate with plenty of refreshing acidity. Not very clean, nor elegant, but thirst-quenching to the max and well-focused, easy-drinking. What a nice surprise. Then again, I’d never noticed that this beer was rated was high in the first place. I feel privileged to have tried it.
