Bottle brought by Shyam - sorry to vouch for this, my man. We were all bored out of our minds by this. Nose was the really glazed cherry candy/cough syrup of Arctic Devil or Virgin Papier, which was surprising. Also some impressive moldy wood, vanilla, smoke and toffee which made us really excited for the beer underneath. Then it was just the above candy/cough syrup thing with maybe some Flemish style cherry flavor. Not sour in the slightest. Not even close. Tasted like an Old Ale or an over-designed barleywine aged till flat. Baffling - the 2007 was outrageously good...

Presentation: It was poured from a capped green 1pint 9.4oz bottle. The bottle reads hand crafted in 2006 at 11%abv. aged in oak and blended October 07. Also there is what I think is a bottle number or batch number on the neck label that reads 00276. Appearance: The body has a dark and murky appearance with a dark brownish burgundy color and some lighter reddish high lights. Near the edges of the glass there are some tine bubbles of carbonation. The head is a small, creamy off white layer of foam that slowly fades to just a small ring of tiny bubbles. Lacing is slick and minimal. Smell: Its aroma has nice tart fruit, funky earthy yeast notes with a hint of oak. Taste/Mouth: The flavor starts with a semi-sweet malty base with a wonderfully complex mix of dry tart fruit, funky earthy east and wood. Some fruit notes that pop out are sour cherries, dry wine like grapes, and tart apple skins. All these flavors work in perfect harmony and its 11%abv is well hidden. It adds another layer of complexity and mellow warmth to the palate. It has a medium body with a silky light texture and soft carbonation. Notes: This beer shows outstanding complexity, balance and sophistication. I could sip this all night paired up with a nice plate of fine cheese and fruit.

750ml bottle. Pours a lightly hazed rusty brown color with a small beige ring that held great carbonation. Nose held vinegar and a light mustiness. Good amounts of oak, cherry and faint citrus as well. Finishes tart and quite acidic, great sour.

Nose is complex, nice and oaky, with a little bit of vinegar. Poured an orange/brown with no head. Taste had lots of cherry, and grape, good vinegar and sourness, and finishes with nice oakiness.

25 oz bottle. Pours a beautiful reddish amber body, clear on first pour, with a fizzy one finger beige head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is tart and woody with cherry skins, light vinegar, light alcohol, and some fruity malt. Reminds me a bit of La Folie. Tart and a bit bracingly acidic up front with a nice slightly tannic woodiness. Finishes with some sour cherry and pittiness. Nicely balanced between the tartness and the acidity, enough to get your attention but not enough to strip the enamel off your teeth. A fairly hefty alcohol note and accompanying warmth down to the belly with each sip. Some stickiness and thickness to the body but the fizzy effervescent carbonation cuts through it really well. Overall, just a nice barrel aged Sour, complex and bold.

Flavor was there. light fruits plenty of sourness after looking at the bottle not sure where they hid the alcohol but it wasn’t there at all. AMAZING "
