fredandboboflo (508), East Setauket, New York, USA Feb 17, 2008 Updated: May 17, 2008 EBF V NOTB. Aroma of fruit ranging from bananas to cherries. The fruit remains present in the flavor joined by funk with good levels of tartness and sourness, but I felt at times an annoying sweetness too. Very spritzy and playful on the tongue, shocked to learn this is 11%.
Re-rate from a bottle, largely the same impressions, but a somewhat suspect mix of that sweetness and mild earthiness dropped aroma from 8 to 7.
ucusty (1077), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Sep 7, 2008 Carolina Crew tasting! Bottle courtesy of Sam! Thanks! Light brown pour with khaki colored head. Slightly tart aroma. Tart up front finish’s clean with hints of oak, leather and cherries radiomgb (1761), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Sep 5, 2008 Orange-brown in colour with a lingering beige coloured head, good lacing. The aroma is slightly sour, oaky, some apple vinegar, a bit earthy. The flavour is sour to start, some tartness lingers, sharp, cherries, fruity, some oak and yeast, light vinegar and wood. Sharp mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long as the sharpness continues, dry with some apple cider vinegar.
Seems to be lacking in some body, its hard to believe that this is 11%. The cherry flavour picks up near the end. Sort of middle of the pack sour beer.

muenster (335), Sevierville, Tennessee, USA Sep 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma is basement funk, oak, random fruits, and a bit sweet chocolate malt that should be out of place, but somehow works well. Flavor is perfectly tart, with a really big spice profile, juicy fruits, then it finishes quick and dry, with a touch of lingering lemon. The aftertaste is really good pinot noir. A bit of warming, but not enough to indicate 11% ABV at all. awesome. GregClow (2332), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 1, 2008 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy, tupalev, jerc & garthicus - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Reddish-orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is funky and a bit woody, with a tart edge. Medium bodied. Flavour is quite complex, funky and spicy and vinous, with a long, tart, dry finish. Fantastic! Suttree (2293), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 31, 2008 Cloudy orangey reddish brown. Tart and winey aroma, with a lot of oaky, woody notes in the background. Big mix of flavors, and its difficult to pick all of them out. Some citrus, a lot of red wine, more oak, a bit of cherry. Well blanded and complex. Very tasty stuff. From McScrooges, Knoxville.
