750 ml bottle at BFM event at Birreria Paradiso. Cloudy medium brown color. Small white head that disappears quickly and leaves scant lacing. Aroma of sour apples and grapefruit. Some funk, but not much. Flavor has citrus, apples and light spice. Complex and interesting.

Dark red-amber color, hazy; sparse bubbles, no head. The aroma is more elegant and balanced than usual, with caramel, oak, light vanilla, a touch of the BFM funkiness; vinous. Good body structure; there is caramel flavor, but mostly a wine flavor, a bit acidic, funky; the light alcohol presence is actually complementing these flavors; the final has also a light vinegar component. As usual, the Abbaye de Saint-Bon chien is a great beer, but I had better vintages.

/12/11/12/13/12
