3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Reddish pink with a thin off white head. Aroma is a bit fruity and sharp. Flavor is fruity and light with just a touch of sour funk in the finish. Surprisingly clean and crisp in the front though it doesn’t leave a decently strong aftertaste.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Currant, clay, and dates aroma, shortbread. Murky ochre, thin head. Tart on the front and back ends. Milder at midpalate. Distinct stewed apples and currants with shortbread underneath. Tasty and unique, but was missing the mustiness that I was expecting. Wonderful beer.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 13, 2014 375ml bottle served in a snifter glass.
A: Pours a light and bit fuzzy amber color forming a small yellow bubbled head. Small retention and only few spotty lacings left in the glass.
S: Absolutely delicious in the nose. Sweet grains, wood, grapes, wild yeasts. A bit sour and vinegar but not aggressive.
T: Slightly sweet upfront. Fruity and woody. Notes of sweet malts, dark fruits, mainly grapes. Wild Lambic like yeasts. In overall a slightly sweet sour beer. Hops bitterness is also there to make it perfect.
M: Medium molasses body. Low carbonation. Tart and fruity aftertaste.
O: Excellent drinkability. Perfect beer. Swiss masterpiece.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rating #2700: bottle from Andersons on Bent Tree. Deep reddish pour with very little head. Aroma of cherry, dark fruit, vinegar, wood. Tastes are along those lines with caramel, toffee background. Also get some sour apple. Overall tough to rate. I tried the 2012 recently and loved it. This definitely isn’t as good - more grapey, sickly sweet. But my ratings shouldn’t be this far apart. Maybe a mood thing.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Distinct features compared to other ASBCs: Grape aroma and some exotic fruits. Very present sourness. Not as sweetish-fruity as the 2013.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Avenue Pub. Pours a cloudy ruby with paperthin head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is a strong cherry skin, oak, funk. Thin mouthfeel with nice dark fruits, oak, nice sourness. Easy to drink, very impressive.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ Moeder Lambic Fontainas during St-Bon-Chien World Tour. Side by side with the 2012 version. Hazy amber/orange with a small ring of off-white foam and little lacing. Aroma is winey with red fruits (mainly cherries) light caramel, oak and balsamic notes. Taste is moderately to heavily acidic with red fruits, strong winey presence and oak. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium/full body. Low/moderate carbonation. Winey mouthfeel. Similar to the 2012 version, but more sour and less balanced. It’s a little more tasty though. Very good strong Sour beer.
