Sampled at the mekong beers gone wild. Side by side with the 07 and 09. This was the Mildest of all but was still good. All the normal "sour" qualities and "bon chief-ness". My least favorite of the three.

Medium brown with a reddish tint. Nice thick head. Aromas of vinegar and cherries. Pretty sweet and juicy but remains sour to a degree. Well hidden alcohol.

On draft at the Beer Kitchen. This is the first time I have tried this beer on tap. Its kind of flat still. But either way it is all sour, some acetic but nothing harsh and mostly lactic. Strong alcohol while well hidden makes this a very different type of sour ale. I am not really sure why we keep separating the listings on this beer.

On tap @ Bambinos. Holy crap does this place have good beers on tap... Anyway, pours deep toffee reddish orange. Thick head that quickly disappears. Strong tart fruits on the aroma. Taste is big: punchy tartness up front that clears quickly and lets the sweet malts show up. Well balanced and quite quenching in the summer. 11% abv is well hidden, I’d guess this was 8 or 9 at most. This is probably my first Swiss beer and I will be having more.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2012 Bottle - 750mL crowned. Brewed in 2011 - Blend 1. Dark copper pour with a short, foamy tan head. Funky yeast, sour fruit, lemon juice, sweat and wet oak in the aroma. Taste is tart berries, lemon juice, damp earth, wet oak, wine notes, funky yeast, sweat and leather. Body is medium with a soft, bubbly carbonation. Very acidic and dry during the finish. Ends with more sour fruit, unripe berries, wet oak, earthy notes, funky yeast, barnyardy notes and lemon.
Re-rate for the Zymatore version. Copper pour with spotty bubbles on the surface. Aroma is similar to regular Bon Chien but with more booze and a touch of sweetness. Taste is sour fruit, tart berries, spicy notes, light booze, a touch of underlying sweetness, leather, earthiness and leathery notes. Body is medium with soft bubbly notes, light boozy slickness, and soft warmth. Finishes with more tart fruit, grains, booze, light sweetness, wet wood, earthy notes, and funky yeast.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2012 Draft at Eulogy. Dark red orange pour. Foamy head with runny lace. Rich juicy red fruit flavors. Plums. Rasins. Figs. Red grape skins. Quite vineous. Medium sour. Slight band aid and plastic notes. Fair amount of bitterness to counteract the sweet.

On tap. It's a cloudy ruby/amber color with a thick tan head and lacing. The aroma is very funky, with a bit of yeast and caramel malt. The sourness is strong up front, and the sweet malt appearing in the middle. It has a smooth body and semisweet finish.

Bottled, thanks Bov! Hazy amber, small head. Woody vinegar aroma. Sourish with well rounded mouthfeel and near full body. Mildly warming with slight , yet relaxed and complex. Another winner from BFM!
