Tap. Deep amber with small head. Sour biere de garde. Quite decent, but not outstanding. Some of the malts seem to clash a bit with the sourness.

Poured a clear but deep red/brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma was tart cherry notes, some light vinegar character. Flavor was mostly tart cherries, some barrel character. Alcohol is there, but it’s a lot more smooth than I expected it would be.

Draft. Pours ruby without much of a head. Big super tart and fruity aroma. Sour stone fruits, a bit of roasted malt, mild vinegar and cherries. Taste is puckering tart, cherries, oak, bits of vanilla. Dry and super crisp finish. A great summertime sipper.

Bottle, many thanks to Bruce! It pours deep hazy red with a thick yellow-white head. The nose is red berry, apricot, peach, mild vinegar, wood and vinous notes. The taste is smooth, red berry, vinous, candy floss, sour cherry, tangy raspberry, caramel, touch of vinegar and some alcohol with a dry, lightly tart finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth, well balanced and rather elegant. As usual BFM turn out another great Bon-Chien!

Bottle at Bruce’s - London. Thanks to Bruce for this beastly sour. Pours unclear amber with a fine, creamy tan head. Some tangy berries in the nose, acetic bite. Light to medium sweet flavor, good sour character, faint vinegar, berries, mellow funk. Medium to full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Well and tangy to finish, lots of jammy fruits, some vinegar, peach, raspberry. Lovely stuff. Bold and quite punchy but still very drinkable.

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2014 Tap pours hazy reddish amber, small tan head, good lacing. Aroma is vinous, tart, cherry, lemon, wood. Flavor is the same, light to medium tart, light sweetness on the start, finish is dry. Fruity, vinous, cherries, woody barrel notes without any real astringence. Medium body. Quite nice, as would be expected from the series.
