Cloudy amber color with red shades; medium sized compact head. The style is there; this year the aroma has more bread and feety impression (along with the usual malt, wood, fruit, light acetone), sweetish. Good body structure; semi-sweet malt flavor, with medium-sharp acidity, and some acetone; good fruity level; solid and complex; it has more sediment than the previous years.
Excellent as usual; the aroma is more elegant than the flavor.

Draft pour. Pours a reddish orange with a sour, boozy, berry aroma. Nice blend of cherry, raspberry, and cherry flavor. Tart berry finish. Very nice sour ale. Sour flavor that sticks around. Good stuff.

Draft @ Saint Bock. Pours a hazy rusty sienna color with a finger of gaseous khaki foam. Nice mix of cranberry, cherry, basement murk and some solid vinous acidity, cider vinegar, wet wood and lingering tart funk.

Coppered color with light head. Big aroma of red berries, vinegar and oak. Medium body & high complexity . Highly sour. Great beer.

Deep amber plum color... Aroma is fairly light, notes of dark fruits, cherries, caramel, funk... Flavor is out of this world, hit of vinegar, huge notes of dark cherry, berries, dark fruits, tartness and oak on finish... Amazingly complex, hint of tobacco... World class sour

Umeboshi aroma, bitter caramel. Pulpy plum flavor, liquor, oak, strong sour finish. Not my usual drink but a very well-crafted brew.

Tasted at tap on 04/06/2014. Clear red brown colour with a big off white head. Aroma is sugar with dark and red fruits. Taste is high acid with red fruites, peaches and apples. Alcohol is high but well integrated in the taste. Taste is very intensive and, in my opinion, well balanced. Next one please!

Nose: hints of white grapes, vinegar, oak, raspberries, taste has a pineapple-like touch, very surprising, also a very balanced beer, never could have guessed the abv.

37,5 cl bottle courtesy of embrouille@1st Freiburg Tri-state tasting, merci vielmals! Nice label, that does not even need to feature that self-aggrandising NYTimes accolade so prominently. A crema of sherry, oak and oud bruin balsamics compose a very inviting nose. Taste is smooth, with a layered depth to old fruits provided by a strong oak component: dry, thankfully not as laden with lactic-fructose as some oud bruin examples as Rodenbach Grand Cru. Well-balanced and immensely drinkable CH sour.

Bottle 37,5cl @ 1st RB DE-CH-F Tasting. An cloudy amber red beer with good head. Nose is exceptional with oak, caramel, vinegar and red fruits notes. Aroma is on apricot, wood, vinegar notes , tart, lactic, over ripped apple, relative astringency, very complex. Alcohol is still well hidden; very nice.
