Bottle. Pour is pretty much still copper with a slight cloudiness. Aroma is very funky with hints of barnyard, funk, and hay. Smells very smooth and rich. Flavor is quite a bit different. Extremely woody with notes of bitterness, light funk, and faint cherry. This is some intense stuff. Glad to try it, but only need it once.

Cloudy amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of malt and fruit. Sweet and fruity flavour, wine and tannin notes, rich and full body

Butters (3325) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - APR 17, 2010
Sampled at the Richmond Eleventh. VJ2. Translucent dark copper pour with clearish big bubble head ring. Nose is a bit weak, and slightly funky. Flavor is more pronounced. Notes of horseblanket, musty basement, dust, yeast, and a pleasing phenolic bandaid piece. Hides the alcohol like a champ! Like the beer, can’t stand the pricetag.

paytoplay (146) - , California, USA - DEC 14, 2009
bottled shared at dasilky tasting, gusher to the max, saved almost all though it’s a small bottle. odd ball of a beer, complex yet very difficult to figure out what is going on. 11% alc? undetectable. fun and super rare treat to try. not sure what 5-10 more years would add, or maybe this is past it’s prime. 1st try at this brewery.

2008 Bottle - Thanks jrob21! - Pours dk clear amber with a small off white head...aroma is beautifully tart fruit, oak, leather and a bit of vinegar...flavour, while sour, went a bit of another direction...hay, white vinegar and something I can only describe as cocktail onion...old garlic and onion with vinegar, apple... slighty vinous in the mouth with a nice carbonation, but I could not get past that flavour...

Bottle 150 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Front label claims this to be brewed in 2009, back label mentions 2008 - not sure what to believe. Pours a hazy amber golden with tiny floating impurities and a small off-white head. Tart aroma with some Brett. Medium body, tart dried fruitiness, spicy, some hops. Tart finish. There’s an edge from the barrel that isn’t completely pleasant. 220809

Bottle Pours out a dark amber topped with a small off white head. Aroma was of white vinegar, tart fruits, and some oak. Taste was more of the tart fruit and vinegar. Along with some band-aid. Thanks ditmier.
