3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Opened with no carbonation ... Almost clear orange red pour with slight bubbles .... aroma is sour and acidic, with a tart cherry, light vinegar/red wine and definitely wood with light berries and rum .... taste is tart and smooth def had a little booze to the aroma and taste at first, but it mellowed out .... light rum and woody with a slight sugar to it, has red wine notes and some caramel malt as it warms it has a nice bitter bite .... finish is very dry and woody with a lingering tartness and bitterness .... this is a really good sour that aged well in 3-4 years since it was brewed/bottled

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Acquired at Winooski Beverage Warehouse in mid-2013. Enjoyed a full pour at cellar temp (50F)
A - Very little carbonation poured, almost flat honestly in mouthfeel as well. It’s a burnt ruby red with a lot of black floaties even on a delicate pour.
S - Nose has a lot of lactic acid, that rodenbach cherry pie and oak aroma and quite a bit of sweetness.
T - It’s a very nice beer. The sour is not overwhelming at all, very light in fact and doesn’t really stick around. you can a woody note mid way through with caramel and prune juice the finish is rum booziness and more sweetness.
M - Hard to get any carbonation from this at all...it’s pretty much a flat beer but oddly that doesn’t detract at all from how nice it is...would have been better with carbonation though.
O - By the nose, I thought this was going to be a sour bomb. It’s not and I enjoyed sipping it on a cold evening up here in the woods.

Backlog bottle thanks to so many good ratebeerians. The smell is rummy, sweet, slight tartness, and fruits. The look is cloudy, orange in color. The taste is wood, thinner body, tart, and sweet.

3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy brown coloured body with a ruby glow, some deep bronze and copper tints and absolutely no head at all, nor carbonation when the cap was opened. Aroma of amazing sour cherries, grapes, raspberries, yeast, alcohol, malt, earth, caramel and a ton more sour notes - mouthwatering! Medium-bodied; Interesting hit of rum, bourbon and alcohol mixed with sour grapes and cherries. Malt then dominates the flavour wtih tons of pit fruits, alcohol, caramel, toffee and some vanilla and oak notes throughout. Aftertaste shows the blend of sour and ridiculously alcohol noted with a emphasis on rum, bourbon, brandy, cognac melded with some sour and sweet notes, although they fade off in the palate. Overall, a nice and strong beer with tons of flavour and a good complexity (not great), but the beer was still missing something to make it excellent. I sampled this 37,5 cL split bottle purchased at Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey (not in Switzerland!) on 20-November-2011 for US$20.95 sampled at home in Washington on 26-September-2013.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma has nice tart fruitiness - cherries and berries. Some decent, sweet, malt notes with cherry and a light toasted bread and toffee notes. Light oak note with a touch of alcohol. Some light plum and fig as well.
Pours a cloudy amber brown with some ruby and red notes. Thin, almost none existent head with only a few bubbles on the edges.
Flavor starts with a hint of sweetness but then turns rather tart. Some cherry and berry notes with a moderate bitterness. Moderate malt notes with caramel, toffee and toasted bread. Finish has quite a bit of alcohol to it with a medium light oak character.
Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with almost zero carbonation. Medium low astringency, not all of it from the acidity, and medium alcohol warmth.
Overall the flavor is alright, but the beer is too big and boozy for my preferences. Good balanced malt and acidity with some nice fruitiness. Fairly nice, just too big and boozy. The beer could also use some carbonation though.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Clear chestnut beer, end of bottle full yeast, no head to speak off. Wood, crème Anglaise, lactic acid, nuts, preserved orange. Absolutely stunning balance between (citrus)fruit, strawberry, exotic fruit, wood, milkchocolate, lactic acid, spices, rum. Very rich, alcoholwarming, but a tad tired sample. Wow, impressive. Only realised this was a rateable after nearly finishing the bottle - just a lucky cellar find...

Bottle. Poured a clear reddish brown color with minimal head with no lacing lacing. Moderate to heavy sour tart fruit, wood and yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium sweet&sour dark fruit flavor with a medium sour dark fruit finish of moderate duration. This is beer did not meet my expectations.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle... Mostly clear dirty-orange ale with no head. The bouquet is a malty, boozy swirl of caramel, brown sugar and methanol with a light trace of fusel alcohol. Medium-bodied with nearly-expired carbonation. The flavor is a mélange of tart cherries, mildly sweet caramel and a modest measure of tannic, woody bitterness. Finishes bittersweet and caramely with an excellent, fruity, sour-cherry sendoff.
