COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Silver medal at Soleure’s extreme beer fest 2007. An extreme black beer whose nose goes toward pepper, vanilla, ashes, tobacco and fresh hops. It reaches the palate all in softness, but quickly becomes intensely bitter, though not very dry. Long and satisfying finish.
This Cuvée was created in the honor of the Jurrassian revolutionist Alex Le Rouge. Enjoy this wonderful Cuvée at about 10°-12° Celsius (50°-53°F), with a crunch of bitter Chocolate or a Cigar. Cuvée Alex Le Rouge can be sequestrated for a few years in a cellar. Ingredients: water, barley malts, hops, cane sugar, yeast, Serawak pepper, Russia tea, Bourbon vanilla.

11.15 oz bottle. Poured an opaque black with yeast sedimentation and a tan head that dissipated in about a minute. Taste of dark chocolate, vanilla, boozy, with a dry bitter finish. Average carbonation, medium body. Not bad for my first beer from Switzerland.

Kanske aningen astringent.

Strange fruity tart kind of porter. Maroon pour with OK head and lacing. Light sweet finish. Only a hint of roast. The pepper makes for a vegetable sourness but doesn’t leave much spiciness. Cask at Churchkey.

Bottle from Drinks of the World, Geneva. Pours mahogany with a cream head. A surprisingly fruity aroma with pineapple and coffee. The taste starts sweet with resinous pine notes and light spice before roasted malt flavours come in on the much more bitter finish. Coffee and chocolate in there. I’d say this was verging on being a black IPA, which is no criticism. Very tasty.

Draft at the one mile house NYC after battling through Chinatown. Deep black color with nice hoppy malty taste. Very good

Batch 2014, bottle (33 cl). Brownish black, with beige head. Aromas of rosted malts, chocolate and some fruits. Medium sweet, medium to high bitterness. Long, pleasant finish. Enjoyable beer.

Brune foncée presque noir, fine mousse noisette.

Jolmig eftersmak.
