3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. [Great two day tasting session @ Papsoe] Huge light brown thick and creamy head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Muddy black like color. Aroma of light sweet chocolate and coffee. Light fruit. Over the palate some wood, roasted malt, dried fruit. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and somewhat alcoholic and thick texture. Moderated to heavy sweet flavor with some bitter notes. Roasted malt and light chocolate finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, 33cL. Batch 2013. Home. A black brown beer with a medium beige head. Medium persistence. Fruity aroma (red berries), pepper, toast and vanilla in the end. Bitterness is medium to heavy in the end. Complex but accessible because light sweetness always underlines bitterness. Medium body. Sweet texture. Soft carbonation. Long heavy bitter finish. Warming notes. Great experience ! Last beer of the night...

An interesting beer, very sour. Pours a deep red with a tan head. Smells sweet. Taste is definitely cuvee, fruity with some wine, and a very sour finish. Had on tap at La Trappe

Black tea is unmistakeable. Roasty underneath, hints of acetone, oddly spiced & balanced. Weird.

Bottle at Marciero. Pitch black and shiny, great head. Fruity nose, some citrus, some Belgian yeast it seems, a bit of tangy funk. Fruity, funky, spicy, bitter ass astringent, coffee, grapes. Spicy and nice.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Dark ruby with very little head. Aroma is prune juice and a little red wine. Taste is heavy on prunes, barnyard funk, light vinegar and wine notes. Vague bitter chocolate as well. Medium sticky palate with little carb. Very complex but not all that enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
A: very dark chocolate brown color with little to no head, just a tea stained bubbly ring around the rim. The depth of the color is deceptive; you anticipate a heaviness, like an imperial stout; you are taken by surprise by the balance.
S: chocolate and dark fruits
F:Bitter like dark cocoa and espresso beans, balsamic vinegar sourness.
Reminds me of a very dark, full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with tobacco character.
M: Medium bodied with a mouthfeel that is not overwhelming, syrupy, or dry. Soft carbonation at the end.
Pairs well with sweet foods. The beer cuts through the sweetness. Conversely, the sweetness softens the acidic aftertaste that would have otherwise lingered.
