Bottled, thanks Bov! Cloudy pale amber, rich airy head. Fruity and vinuos. Dryish, hoppy, lively and fresh with some grainy malt and orange juice. Mild, yet flavourful, playful, yet balanced. Very drinkable. As always from BFM an exiting beer!

Bov (7354) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JAN 18, 2008
bottled 1/2008 - cloudy amber colour with a big beige foam, nice lace; unclean dusty aroma with notes of apple, cream and cornflakes; medium-bodied, soapy and with a moderate bitterness; dry corny and slightly fruity finish - unfortunately totally green, I’ll have to wait and hope (4/5/6/3/11)

draught at "brassin public" 11/2007 - pours a hazy copper-amber colour with a fine and stable beige head, correct lacing; very fruity hoppy nose with a domination of blackcurrant and some citrusy notes behind; regular and medium malt backbone with a solid and clean bitterness; long fruity hoppy finish which makes you eager to drink more

Bottled@FatPhil&oh6gdx EBF-warmup cruise. Hazy orangeish brown colour, mediumsized white creamy head. Aroma is pineapple, hops, caramel and some other fruits. Mild earthyness. Flavour is fruits, wood, grass, mild spices and earth. Aftertaste is acidic fruits, earth and some mild yeastyness.

750ml bottle - shared by oh6gdx - thanks! Cloudy toffee colour, healthy off-white head. Hoppy aroma, also very sweet and fruity - pineapple. Soft carbonation, but tingly hops enliven the palate. Taste is very smooth, with lovely raw flowery hops, and a pleasant horse-blanket hint. Toffee in the taste too. Finish is bounding with raw hops, very long, and beautifully sticky. An Imperial Saison! Thicker, deeper, heavier - just so much more; and all in perfect balance. A million thanks, Pat, this was glorious!

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2008 1st US rating: Mar 08 Tampa tasting, thanks Eric!:

Cloudy golden hue with small head and spotty lace. Aroma has notes of mango, grapefruit, yeast funk, bready, and spice. Taste is fruity, bitter, flowery, earthy, and herbal. Lively and refreshing, works with flavor profilr. Really nice, I dig this.

Bottle. Weak hop aroma, Nelson Sauvin? Very cloudy dark orange colour. Small stable off-white head. The flavour is nicely citric/sourish, perhaps some of it from the hops. The flavour also reminds me of the NS hop. Quite nice and refreshing. 737318

Cloudy light amber color; small creamy head. Some aroma of hop and yeast. Dry caramel flavor, a bit too yeasty, lightly astringent in the end, and possibly also with a light infection. Not impressive.

Beautiful bright amber color; big creamy head. Aroma of caramel and hop, with a dash of grapefruit and grapefruit candies, musky. Good body structure, with caramel flavor, harsh bitterness, subdued acidity, light fruitness (bitter oranges). Balanced final. Interesting, very good and well brewed.

Yeah, I was there… and I changed the style classification from Amber Ale.
There is nothing “Amber Ale” about this offering. A golden blond body, yeasty, bready to some extent funky farmyard aroma. Wet straw, cracked wheat with faint hints of red apple, yet finished with an earthy, yeasty dryness. A very seasonable and elegant product!
