2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Papsoe (22946) - Frederiksberg, - FEB 25, 2006
(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a very unclear, dark amber with a tall, handsome, beige coloured head with good retention. Light tartness in the nose. Medium body, immensely dry with some acidity and a touch of sherry. Also the finish is extremely dry. Reminds me a bit of a Belgian Saison. 240206
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 2, 2011
/12/13/12/10/12

Pours a mahogany hazy amber with a giant white head. Smells of vanilla, toffee, some dry malt, floral hints, cherries. Tastes dry and fruity with lots of acidity and a tarte lactic finish. Very unusual beer.

A Mes rate. Bottle thanks very kindly to Alex. Hazy mid brown with a thin off white head. Jesus that’s a good smelling beer. Slight signs of age with a bit of caramel. Amazing sour notes, tangy fruit and lovely grassy hops. The flavour is pretty much identical. Like a sour IPA but really good. Very clean mouthfeel. Lovely and spritely. Hints of alcohol give it some balls. Drinkable and very very enjoyable.

Very cloudy, opaque yellow-brown beer with a thick yellow head. Bottle was a huge gusher. Aroma is nice and leathery, brett, sour notes and a bit of lactic acidity, but not terribly so. Oak and vanilla notes mixed with sweet cherry fruitiness and some cologne. Complex aroma. Flavour is less appealing than the nose, leathery and cologne-like, soft body, light tartness and a lingering oaky flavour. Light cherry fruitiness leading into the finish before ending on a leathery note. I don’t know if this is what they were going for, but I liked where it ended up.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 27, 2006
Explosion upon opening. Cloudy dark tan colour. Berryish aroma with wood and quite a bit of lactic acid. Somewhat medicinal flavour, with sweet sorbitol candy qualities and a bit of tartnes. Not entirely successful, not entirely flawless, but there are remants of a good beer here. Still, that distinctive BFM tartness has been put to better uses. Here is seems to obfuscate the beer it could have been.

(Thanks a lot Papsoe) 33 cl bottle. Yeast at the bottom. Amber colour with a nice creamy-like head. Aroma of acidity and oak. Flavour of oak and earty with hints of caramel and malt. Ends up pretty very dry.

Very fruity nose, with notes of plums and a light acidity. Muddy brown body with a medium sized tan head. Sourish and woody flavor, with nice fruity notes, some berries in the end. Quite fresh.
