3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MartinT (6340) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 5, 2006
UPDATED: OCT 29, 2008 Fleeting foam collapses into the hazy, dark orange...Herbal, piney, grassy hops are projected by the frothy carbonation...Spicier with time, pushing forth earthy, wooden hop notes, and a dash of alcohol, the smooth body somehow makes the intrinsic eccentricity personable...Fruity sweetness manages to balance out the hoppiness for a great interplay of flavors...Another intriguing and entertaining Franche-Montagnes...
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ungstrup (23918) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 5, 2006
A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet hoppy combined with notes of oranges. The flavor is sweet combined with an acidic touch, and with primary notes of oranges, but also a hint of metal. Hard to tell the style.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Papsoe (22946) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 16, 2006
(Bottle 75 cl) Vintage 2004. Pours a very unclear, murky amber with a small, off-white head. Sourish, fruity nose. Medium body with some underlying sweetness, but overwhelmingly dominated by a rather complex combination of tartness (citrus - grapefruit) and aroma hops. But it’s not that bitter. A rather sophisticated beer really. Heavily sedimented. The label calls this a "Rousse de garde", to me it mostly reminds me of a Saison. Thanks to Bov for this very nice beer. 160306
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Emil (6070) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 16, 2006

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - MAR 15, 2006
UPDATED: AUG 1, 2006 2006-08-01, 8-5-8-4-16=41 Hazy amber color; fine, persistent perlage; big head. Original aroma, as usual: malt, milk chocolate, lactic, tomatoes, hop, bitter orange. Good body structure, with malt, the classic woody sourness, bitter orange peel. Complex taste, supported by a stating bitterness. Very good.
2006-03-15, 7-4-7-3-15=36 Cloudy amber color; creamy head. The aroma is of a Belgian Ale, with some malt, yeast, very light wood sourness. The taste as well is malty, with a light woody and grapefruit sourness typical of BFM and a quite evident vanilla touch. The final is essentially bitter with grapefruit. Good, complex. I wonder how much different is from the one that Philippe had one year ago, for example the hops are not evident, much more the vanilla.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Bov (7354) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - MAY 18, 2005
copper-orange colour, giant creamy head, aroma of grapefruit with citric and buttery notes, some hazelnut too, a bit acidic, good malt body, very strong and tart bitterness, the finish is very long and very hoppy, dry and showing more citrusy and grapefruity notes - aggressive, disturbing and very good; there are tons of hops here !
