2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Appearance: Pours a clear, mahogany-hued body sporting a thin ring of bubbles.
Smell: Quite tart-smelling aroma. Lots of malt vinegar. Waiter! I’ll have the fish ’n’ chips, please.
Taste: Combination of sparkling apple juice and malt vinegar. There’s a curious, growing spice character. Splash of herbal tea. That tartness lingers well beyond the finish. I dare anyone to find cocoa in this.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Mild carbonation.
Drinkability: No, thank you!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a transparent copper orange with a frothy, clingy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of biscuity doughy malts and earthy, ctirusy lemon and faint notes of cocoa. Starts lightly sweet and quite citric with a touch of cocoa flavor before a drier, tart finish. An interesting brew, but the tartness detracts from the other flavors.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
33cl swing-top bottle. Vintage 2007. Amber ale brewed with cocoa (powder), fruity noble hop (challenger). Pours clear copper color. Aroma has a funky horseradish funkiness to it. It just smells like pepper sauce. Flavor has an aweful citrus, lemony, tartness. I hope this was a bad bottle.
