UPDATED: DEC 15, 2014 330ml bottle served in a pint glass. A: Pours a cloudy dark orange color forming a huge bubbled white head. Medium retention and some lacings formed and left in the glass. Lots of small particles can be seen suspended in the beer. S: Spicy and smoky. Malty. Some notes of wood. Quite earthy. T: Spicy upfront. Strong notes of pepper. Quite dry in the mouth. Strong notes of smoke too. A bit woody. Mild bitterness in the end. M: Light watery body. Good carbonation. Dry and smoky aftertaste. O: Good drinkability. Gives the impression of being stronger in alcohol. It lacks some sweetness and fruitiness, maybe. BFM quality, in any case. [ BA Review @ 11/3/2013 ]

from Erzbierschof - hazy dark blond beer under a long lasting foam; a decent smokiness, notes of umami and spices; moderate malt backbone, a late and decent bitterness, some tart smokyness and a light spicy and flowery finish

Cloudy light amber color with generous compact head. Mild aroma, some paper, delicate pepper, but also a pleasant meaty touch. Smooth mouthfeel; some flavor of cereals, paper, quite strong yeast; medium bitterness, without apparent hop qualities. Dry final; overall it doesn’t seem so much low alcohol.
An interesting beer, although the lack of fruitiness is a handicap.
