Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 6, 2008 Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of roasted malt, which also lends it a slight acidic edge. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, and chocolate. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 16, 2007 Bottled, thanks Bov! Near black, rich but brief head. Intricate tobacco aroma. Medium sweet with full body and clean mouthfeel. Concentrated flavours where salty aniseed meets orange and smoke. No flavour really takes control making it complex, although a bit disaorganized. As always from BFM it’s an unusual but very tasty beer. Papsoe (10428), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 14, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of Bov. Hazy, dark brown with a tint of red and a dense, retentive, beige head. Interesting, spicy, peppery nose. Rather sweet with burned malt accents and some spiciness. Fairly burned, bitter finish. A very different but also very excellent Imperial Stout. 110108 Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 8, 2008 Brown colour. A little bit of tartness in the nose and some almondy character. Tart, but with some chewiness. Light caramel notes. Really goes nowhere. BFM’s funkadelic style does not lend itself to stouts. yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jan 12, 2008 33 cL bottle. Pours murky dark brown with a little diminished off-white head. Light chemical aroma, roasted malt aroma and slight chocolate note. Flavour is peppery, spiced and quite hardroasted malt base. Finish is solid bitter and roasted malty with a quite strong herbal note.
