33cl bottle. Pours amber/brown with thick white head. Aroma is herbal, green tea nose with some sugar sweetness and hops. Taste, organic green tea as per the bottle adds some subtle light palate, herbal yeast and hops with citrus like mouthfeel and some cane sugar. Light in body, very enjoyable and refreshing.

Thanks to travlr for this bottle! Light yellow pour. Lactic acid, touches of vegetable, and really nice tart citrus of pink grapefruit, bitter lemon, and unripe apricot. Sort of like a berliner weisse. Nice!

Thanks travlr. Murky amber with a 1 finger white head. Nectar fruits, sage, rosemary and tea lead to sour stone fruit and a great lactic acid profile. Extremely quenching. Medium body, dry finish.

330mL flip-top thanks to Travlr. GUSHER! Pours a murky, glowing, brighter orange with a larger, off-white head. Nose is funky, white wine, mild acetic acid, orange candies, lots of minerals, sharp tangerine and white grapefruit rind. Taste up front is super big carbonation on the palate- overwhelming. Moves to stinging lemon tartness and ending with some sticky maltiness. Refreshing- mildly funky. No acetic character in body. Mild metallic character. Lots of citric acid. A bit stinging carbonation wise. Mildly quenching. Green tea character (tannins) on the palate is distracting and unnecessary.

33cl swing top bottle, best by September 2013, brought back fresh from the brewery by my buddy Pat. The pour yields a hazy, medium-dark, dusky sienna amber color. A squat head of off-white foam is short-lived, leaving behind minimal wet lace spotting and just a thin surface ring. Aromas start out with a sweet amber malt base, suggesting of baking wheat bread dough. Belgian yeast lends a hint of semi-sweet fruitiness, while wisps of green tea offer mild herbal tones. The flavor is slightly drier and more acidic than the nose suggests, showing considerable more spice (think coriander and green tea), along with some grassy hops. Malts are still mainly bready, with pops of caramelized sugar. The palate sports a body that is just short of moderate in stature, mainly easy going, yet it shows a slightly papery and (shockingly) alcoholic finish. It’s very odd to me that a 5% beer shows this much alcoholic dryness and warmth. Overall, not a terrible beer, but certainly nothing to write home about.

Unclear orange of color with an off white head. An aroma of hops, sweets, muddy and grainy. A flavor of hops and grainy.

Geht so. Danke an den Doppelbock für das Bier! 11/8/7/7/6/7

Bottle, courtesy of fiulijn. A hazy, orange-golden beer with a small, off-white head. Milky, rubbery nose with a lemony touch, not very good. The flavor is pretty much the same, rather unpleasant, with a touch of bitterness. Medium body, acidic. Definitely off. 110129

A hazed golden amber ale with small floaties and a thick collapsing with head. In aroma, pleasant orange peels, smooth Brett and cave, and light white pepper. In mouth, a light sweet candy malt with Orval like notes, smooth and refreshing, well done. Bottle from Cave à Bulles, June 2010, BB Feb. 2012.
