A dark red beer with no head. The aroma is sweet spicy combined with the notes of Danish Christmas cookies known as "brunkager". The flavor is of cloves and "brunkager".

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Bov. Tasted first cold then mulled. Pours a hazy, dark brown with an orange hue and a small, rough head. Very spicy cardamom aroma. Medium body and rather flat. Very distinct flavours of cinnamon, cardamom and brown sugar. The alcohol really warms you up as the beer is heated. A very christmasy brew. 170707

75 cL bottle, courtesy of Bov. Pours murky darkbrown with no head, no carbonation. Aroma is cinnamon, cardemomme, cloves and caramelish. Sweet caramelish and raisin fruity. Light dry spiceness. Lingering caramelish finish. Heated the spices come out more clearly with a note of cloves, some vanilla. Flavour is dry, mild raisin like and complex spiced - somewhat berry fruity too. Dry spiced flavoured into the finish. Subtle spiced, dry and complex.

Bottled (fridge/roomtemperatured.)tt Deep ambery brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma is cinnamon, cardamom, some sweet maltyness as well. Flavour is almonds, cinnamon, cardamom and some sweet notes. 6 4 6 3 12.

Same bottle at approx 70-75c warm. Quite much brown to pitch black colour, no head. Aroma is sweet malts, mild spices and some fruityness. Flavour is spices, alcohol, some glue as well as mild liquorice (in a bad way). Not that pleasant when being warms, loses all the "touches" in it.

Bottled. Beautiful mahogany colour. No matter if it is served cold or at 60şC the aroma is overwhelming with cinnamon and sugar. It is extremely sweet with clean mouthfeel. Cold it is strangely reminding of a typical Swedish breakfast dish (risgrynsgröt med kanel och socker). Warm it is a nice, odd warimg drink, reminding of Austrian jägertee, luckily the outside temperature was -9şC, so this was a suiting drink at the time I sampled it. I really love the way BFM is experimenting, even if I don't always love their beer.

Bottle, 7%. At room temperature is has a mild cherry aroma, sweetish, berryish. Dark blood red colour, unclear. No head. The flavour is sweet with a distinct cinnamon aftertaste. Mulled, its aroma is a bit more pungent, not more pleasant, really. Same colour, of course, perhaps a bit of frothy head. The flavour is less sweet, a little bitter, seems to come from a sort of berry. The cinnamon flavour is a lot less noticable when the beer is hot.

Brown color, no carbonation. Deep spicy aroma: pain d'epices (local gingerbread), cloves, nutmeg, light anis, cinnamon. The promises of the spicy nose are not maintained by the flavors, the body resulting to be lighter than expected and the palate is N/A. Sometimes similar to a Fernet Branca.
Do you want a hot digestive? try the wonderful China Martini.
