COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. A bitter blonde with herbal aroma. Salvia is present on swallowing and gives a nice touch to it. Besides that it is a blonde rather on the malty meaty side.

Hazy amber/orange color; Medium body; Aroma of yeast, floral (sage), some citrus, & spice; Flavor of slight sweet malt, yeast, light fruit, hops, citrus, and herbs; Nicely balanced; On the mild side - but decent.

Bottle. Hazy golden with a medium sized white head with good retention and lace. Nose has spices, herbs, flowers, dry wood, sage. The flavour is also spicy yet not as much as the nose suggests. Sage, herbs, wood, dry flowers, forest, hay. Light/medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation, mild sweet, light acidic and bitter. Dry finish with some bitterness and lingering spices. A bit too much spice rack for me.

Draught @ Whats Brewing - Friday Session 1, Stavanger
Pours hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast, sage, spices and pepper finish. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long pepper, yeasty and spiced finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Sampled 330 ml. swing-top bottle @ “Vini Birre Ribelli 2015”. Hazy citrus, small white head. Nose is milky sour lemon, fizzy with ginger & ginseng. Taste is watery ginger, ginseng, hay, floral, lactic, lemon,… Body is a bit watery, thin & fizzy. Not for me. Odd & not really successful. BFM has the BFM Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien series which is simply brilliant but otherwise?

330ml bottle from Drinks of the World, Basel (5.20 CHF):
Quite lively & spicy with strong carbonation but still balanced & easy to drink. It was a beer that grew on me the more I had of it & it seemed refreshing in places with the citrus balancing the pale malts & spice whilst adding some to the complexity; certainly one of the nicer spiced beers I’ve tried.

Smell of fruity yeast esters, banana, light malts, spices. Light sweet, dry, light malts, super fruity. Moderate bitter finish. Comparing with other beers from BFM this one stands out as one dimentional and boring

had on draft in nola .. . pepper and sage .. skanky .. . mouth is lively .. great foam .. . different kind of beer, would do well with a thanksgiving meal .. . . We drilled a hole in the floor so he could touch people’s feet when they walked by and have that human contact, and so we could shove raw ground beef down there (his favorite food). Anyways, his eye fell out and got infected.
