8/4/12. 11.2oz flip top bottle from Grassroots. Barely hazy golden pour withva big fluffy khaki head that sticks and laces plenty. Slightly grainy aroma, almost like popcorn, with definite funk and tartness - herbal qualities for sure - but also pears and lemon. Doughy flavor with bread, yeast, light funk, hay, and lingering citrus. The funky herbal quality reminds me of the Saison du Buffs only better. Nice.

Bottle at Eulogy. Hazy yellow amber with a pillowy white head. Lots of lace. Yeasty, cheesy aroma. Flavors are more citrus and herbal. Lemon zest. Rubbed sage. Thyme. Sour dough. Quite fizzy. Bit of orange honey sweetness. Bit of funk. Bit of sour. Dry herbal finish. Interesting. Funky but original and unique.

Deutlicher Kräutergeruch. Im Antrunk sind die Kräuter weniger intensiv als gedacht, herb-süß, rund, stimmig. Voller werdend, die Kräuternoten werden intensiver und wirken fast etwas übertriebem. OK. 11/10/12/10//10

Pours hazy pale amber with a small head. Nose shows a mix of lemon, herbal notes, barnyard funk and doughy wheat. The funk is quite prominent. Flavours include more brett and acidity followed by an astringent finish. Some lemon and wheat pokes it’s head out. Carbonation is suitably high, the body feels watery though. Interesting, but a little the herbal notes and accompanying astringency are a little harsh.

A lightly soured blonde ale apparently flavoured with sage, but I didn’t really pick that up. Strangely this brewery is in Switzerland not Belgium as I first thought.

3/V/2012 - 33cl bottle @ Klaas’ place - BB: II/12 (2012-463) Thanks to Bene for sharing the bottle!

Cloudy beige beer, small off-white head, dissipates immediately. Aroma: lots of smelly cheese, smelly feet, some citrus, overripe fruits, peppery. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: rotten fruits, citrus, pretty sour, infected like, some grapefruit, band-aid. Aftertaste: little bitter, sour touch, rotten fruits, cheesy, very unpleasant and bitter ending. WTH is this...?

33cl bottle... Pours a cloudy golden light yellow with a big frothy head that laces down the glass. Aromas are bright with a sour funkiness with hints of lavender and citrus. On with the taste... Mmmm flavors start with a nice sour fruity tartness then leads into a balanced bitterness, opening the gates for a bready roundness that finishes off nicely falling into a bit of peppery herbaceous ending !

Bottle shared by a friend at the Hopsnobbery Collective’s first (and last) Crappy Beer Tasting on 2/29/12. I had never had this brew (and neither had the individual who brought it) and after sampling I found myself incredibly offended that this beer would be brought to such an event. Pours clear with a thin white head. Malty nose with some citrus, tartness and herbs. Malty and bretty flavor with sage before a funky finish. Not bad at all, and certainly nowhere near worthy of the title of worst beer ever.

Cloudy straw with white clumps and a thin white head. Soft medium body with medium carbonation.

Aroma: bright sourness, sweet pilsner malt, and just a hint of sage. Has a definite honey and lemon character to it.

Taste: citrusy tartness, moderate lambic character, pilsner malt, and minty sage.

Very nice, refreshing, and complex. Sour enough to be thirst quenching, yet still sessional. A great beer that i was not expecting.

Dry honey malt, fresh herbal aromas and flavors, laced with beautifully dry, vinous sour fruit flavors. This redefines what beer can be.
