Bottle shared by a friend at the Hopsnobbery Collective’s first (and last) Crappy Beer Tasting on 2/29/12. I had never had this brew (and neither had the individual who brought it) and after sampling I found myself incredibly offended that this beer would be brought to such an event. Pours clear with a thin white head. Malty nose with some citrus, tartness and herbs. Malty and bretty flavor with sage before a funky finish. Not bad at all, and certainly nowhere near worthy of the title of worst beer ever.

Cloudy straw with white clumps and a thin white head. Soft medium body with medium carbonation.

Aroma: bright sourness, sweet pilsner malt, and just a hint of sage. Has a definite honey and lemon character to it.

Taste: citrusy tartness, moderate lambic character, pilsner malt, and minty sage.

Very nice, refreshing, and complex. Sour enough to be thirst quenching, yet still sessional. A great beer that i was not expecting.

Dry honey malt, fresh herbal aromas and flavors, laced with beautifully dry, vinous sour fruit flavors. This redefines what beer can be.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with a slight head. Spicy aroma of pepper and yeast. The flavor is surprisingly sour - Belgian-like yeast, and a bit of pepper. The sage is muted, but does come through in the finish, which is somewhat earthy. Slightly astringent mouthfeel. Unique and interesting, though nothing too amazing.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2012 Bottle from Globus. Another slightly lively bottle from Bfm - fortunately had a glass and the sink ready this time. Full rocky white head, orangey colour, spicy aroma, like a Belgian blonde but with extra, refreshing spicy taste with bitter finish. Not sure I’d known it was sage without the bottle, but very pleasant ale! Rerated Dec 12 after a couple of extra bottles, still really like this!

I love this beer. Super super easy drinking... Keep it comin. Spicy, sagey, crisp. Much heavier feel because of carbonation. Bfm is the greatest

Nice hit of spiciness to this one. Pours a dark orange. Aroma is fairly intense. I am really digging the use of sage in beer from Craftsman to El Segundo.
