COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brassée avec des malts de blé et d’orge, la salamandre est une bière au bouquet floral et épicé avec une note de levure légère, en bouche, elle est crémeuse avec une petite pointe d’acidité caractéristique des bières blanches. En finale, elle est peu amère, mais racée, on sent alors l’écorce d’oranges amères et un houblonnage discret.

Bottle. Pours cloudy golden with white head. Aroma of citrus, lemon, fruitiness, herbal notes and malt. Flavor is sweet and fruity with some coriander , malt and herbal notes. Medium to thin body, average carbonation.

Rating from 2009. Ein Witbier mit Zucker, Blütenhonig, Koriander & Orangenschalen. Gelb-weißlich in der Flasche, säuerlich-frischer Geruch. Der Antrunk ist vollmundig-frisch, leicht säuerlich und angenehm mild. Hat schon ein kleines Bisschen was von Milchsäure. Zum Hauptteil ist das Bier vollmundiger, frisch, mild-würzig. Die Gewürze kommen schön zur Geltung, nur den Honig schmecke ich leider nicht heraus. Der Nachgeschmack ist für ein Witbier sehr lang anhaltend, mild-fruchtig-frisch und angenehm säuerlich-hefig. Ganz wenig herb. --> Sehr interessantes Witbier – aromenreich und nicht platt. Sehr zu empfehlen! --> 12,12,12,13,12,12 - 12,15

Small creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, broth, citrus, hay, weeds, camomile, grass, dough. Taste is weeds, yeast, hay, wheat, camomile, citrus, dough. Little bitterness. Fair enough, just pretty boring.

33cl fliptop, thanks Allen! - Ominously cloudy and yet watery pour. Wheat, old orange zest, undefined clove-like and kitchen spices. Some starch coming from musty honey blossom, rather sweet and sticky - did not pick up on any sourness. - - Really wanted to enjoy this one after a first awfully misguided brew from BFM who are supposedly great at what they do, but remind me of some Walloon breweries who cannot brew a batch without adding some sort of sugar or spice. Is it the Romandie-Wallonie connection and their preference for everything that slithers, spices and goblins? I can see that there is a concept and a fair amount of brewing expertise to this and do appreciate experimentation within reason. But as I would object to a 3-star Michelin chef presenting me with a moleculary pureed steak&frites, I find this an unnecessarily exotically spiced & amped up concoction and a bit of a shame to tamper the beautifully light and simple recipe of a Belgian Wit into oblivion like this. To be fair, the Ms did not dislike this as much, so I guess there is some hope. Really curious what they did to innocent Oud Bruin and Saison now...

330 ml bottle in Geneva, Switzerland. Pours an unclear yellow with no head at all. Sour citrus aroma. A bad vinegar taste. Fruits & honey are hiding. Acid like flavor & watery body! Pretty nasty stuff. No pleasure with this one at all.

Poured murky yellow with a small creamy white head. Sourish, lambic style brett aroma with barnyard, lemon peel, vinegar, spicies. Creamy, smooth mouthfeel with a sourish character but not as acetic as expected according to the aroma. Light vinegar, citrusses, cinnamon, lemon peel. Interesting one.

Pours a hazy straw color under a faint but lasting oily head. Wonderful nose of sour apple, clove and balsamic vinegar. Complex opening with sweet apple vinegar and clove, finishing with a wheaty tartness, extremely thirst quenching. Palate is soft and medium fill, stay with you. Great stuff and love the mixing of an almost Flemish red and a wheat beer.
